KARONGA(MaraviPost): Malawi President, who is on an extended tour of the Northern Region. On Tuesday commissioned the $13 million Kalenge Water Treatment works in Chitipa.

According to experts and statements made by the President, the system will provide water to over 47, 000 people in the district. A beaming Peter Mutharika said he was very delighted that people of Misuku, Kalenge and the whole of Chitipa district, among others, will now have access to clean water. President Mutharika, said this will, in turn, improve their social and economic welfare.
