Lilongwe police launches manhunt for Siza Nyirenda over wife murder

Siza Nyirenda on police radar over wife murder

BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-Malawi Police in Lilongwe have launched a manhunt for a 35- year-old Siza Nyirenda on suspicious that he murdered his wife, Maria Banda.

According to Kanengo Police Station Public Relations Officer Gresham Nwira, the suspect, now at large, picked a quarrel with the wife after he suspected her to be in relationship with 19 year-old- Yohane Zidana.

“He therefore, locked the two in the house at Area 25C where he cut Yohane’s private parts before killing the lady. After doing this, the suspect, Siza Nyirenda escaped to an unknown destination,” said Ngwira.

Ngwira revealed that Yohane is currently receiving treatment at Kamuzu Central Hospital

He said when arrested, Nyirenda will answer murder charges which contravene Section 209 of the Penal Code.

The deceased, Maria Banda aged 15, hailed from Nzoweza village, Traditional Authority ( TA) Chilowamatambe in Kasungu.

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Residents of area 25 in the capital Lilongwe have caught unidentified man damaging tombs and stealing tombs signs.

According to eye witnesses said that the man wanted to use the tombs signs for rituals.

Kanengo police rushed to the scene and arrested the man.

The suspect whose details are yet to known he is now at Kanengo police station.

Meanwhile, Kanengo police spokesperson is yet to comment on the matter.

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)- Police at Kanengo Station are keeping in custody  19 year old Van Gomani for soliciting immoral purpose. The suspect is accused of trying to obtain money through false pretense by dressing and identifying himself as female prostitute whilst in truth he is male.

According to Kanengo Police Publicist Salome Chibwana the suspect Gomani on the early hours of Monday portrayed himself as a female prostitute and was picked by a client. However when the two sex thirst couple went into a private room in order to fulfill their lust, the client was surprised to find that he was with a fellow man.

This angered the client as he was deceived. He therefore reported the suspect to the police as he felt Gomani wanted to steal from him through deception.

Von Gomani comes from Kapetera village T/A Kapeni in Blantyre and will appear in court  to answer charges of soliciting immoral purpose which is under section 180 sub section (e) of the penal code.

SADM Pharmaceutical security guard’s assassins nabbed in Lilongwe

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)- The Malawi Police at Kanengo station are keeping in custody two  men for being suspected to have killed a security guard at SADM Pharmaceuticals in Area 29 in the capital
Lilongwe in an attempt to steal.

The development comes barely three weeks after the police assured the general public that the thugs would be hunted following the death of the guard on January 12, 2017.

The criminals escaped without stealing anything after the nearby security guards alerted the Police who promptly arrived at the scene of crime, and the gangsters who were armed with panga knives, had already heavily assaulted the deceased on the forehead and back.

But Kanengo Police deputy spokesperson Salomy Chibwana has identified the two suspects as James Adam, 24 and Prince Willy Nakoma, 24, who were arrested on Sunday.

Chibwana told The Maravi Post that the police used its intelligence network to arrest Adam in Balaka who later confessed to have had a hand the guard’s death.

The police publicist said James revealed that he committed the crime with other five friends including Nakoma whom the police arrested later in Lilongwe on the same day.

“We are still hunting the other three suspects who are at large but will get them soon. The two are in our custody waiting to take them to court to answer murder charges contrary to section 209 of the Penal
Code”, said Chibwana.

The suspects Adam (who is the regular criminal) and Willy hail from Bonongwe and Maliri Villages, Traditional Authorities (T.As) Chimwala and Maliri in Magochi and Lilongwe districts respectively.
