Chilima’s Word for Mindset Change, a way for Nation’s positive Development

Malawi VP Chilima’s mindset change public lecture

Written by Austin Kajawa

Let me begin this write up by quoting Plato who said that, “we can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light.”

VP Saulos Chilima’s mind-set change talk was an eye-opener and a bright future for the Malawian nation. People who wish this country well will not have problems to understand him. Malawi deserves such charismatic and brilliant political leaders.

Since the inception of the multiparty system, calamity is what Malawians have faced and been development of the nation and values to respect public services. The development and leadership that Malawians saw and appreciate since such time are always minimal and specific personal gains that have people seen are tragic because they have been outweighed based on the politician’s interest. Chilima has untied the ropes and shown Malawians how and without raising too many questions where we have to claim our way of history and how should it be.

Is it not the progressive mindset that one has to have first before engaging himself for public offices first? We have always lacked the great teacher on that and has just told us how.

According to Chilima, “mindset is the established set of attitudes held by someone.” He does not digress but to bring us more closely that, the way we think and do things portrays our mind-set to whether we have a progressive or unprogressively mind-set.

The fixed mindset that our other politicians show year in and year out, Chilima enunciates that we can’t develop and some of these such politicians were there and others yet in their different places watching or listening to the radio from him. A lot more people in public offices were also likewise hearing from him. Time has come to redefine our mind-set and the stage of life in this nation to where we are.

Chilima has just reminded everyone that, hard work, persistence, and patience is the attitude of only winners and nation builders. I am convinced that this is the moment where mediocrity should be buried, and Malawians should begin to take full charge for the best of our nation through positive mind-set.

In everything we are doing must be netted in the purpose Chilima says and this will always be merited to the deserving and undeserving have to still learn until they get it one day to move forward. Life is a continuous learning process, and we should be able to accept the criticisms to learn more and move forward. Let us change the way we think and do things because it is time to apply more efforts and sacrifice to achieve a positive life for everyone and our nation.

Politics in Malawi has always been named a dirty game because people have endorsed stupid politics like prey greens to disease the purpose than curing it.

Chilima’s public lecture knocks down tribal politics and regionalism. He has torn apart politics based on envy, hate and jealous that has always been crowned as a normal routine.

This article associates itself with Niccolo Machiavelli, a Political Scientist and Philosopher that, “the best way to predict our future is to create it.” Chilima has just told us how and appeals to us Malawians to start making a progressive mind-set.

Now is the right time to make progressive mindset change sacrifices. This is the right time to pursue our dreams as a nation. If this is deemed difficult today, fellow Malawians, I bet you that it will be 10 times more difficult tomorrow to move forward as a nation.

It must be with great honour that the president of the Republic of Malawi Dr Lazarus Mc Cathy Chakwera endorsed the public lecture and recommend to what the Vice president Dr Klaus Saulos Chilima presented. This to me shows a remarkable relationship and teamwork that is between our president and his vice is contrary to how sour such a relationship has always been in previous regimes.

We are now in time whereby stupid politics of gossiping and personal agenda is been castrated and Chilima’s speech should send a signal and a stiff warning to the political savagery and greed. The combination of the duo seems to be the filter to sieve the jumping castles or jingle jungle kind of government that Malawians have always paid and suffered its fate.

This article concludes with the wise words from Plato the Philosopher that,” wise men speak because they have something to say; Fools because they have to say something.” Chilima has just told us how to speak for the benefit of us all as Malawians.

However, it also must further be understood and agreed that “the price good men pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men.” Plato. This is to say, yet others will deem the public lecturing a block to their evil and rapacious hearts in public offices and positions.

Chakwera and Chilima have come to build and set Malawians free from poverty and mental slavery. Take us there that you want us to be, masters. We obey!

God bless Dr Lazarus Chakwera, God bless Dr Saulos Chilima. God bless us and Malawi!

The Malawi we want!
