Machika takes over from Sambo at NRB: Calls for teamwork

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Patrick Machika has been appointed as the new Chief of the National Registration Bureau (NRB).

NRB to register Malawians abroad

The National Registration Bureau has announced plans to send registration officers to South Africa in the coming weeks to register Malawians residing in the country. This initiative aims to provide Malawians living abroad with an opportunity to obtain national identity documents, register births, and deaths.

According to Mphatso Sambo, Principal Secretary for the National Registration Bureau, Malawians in South Africa will be able to register for national identity cards, which will enable them to access various services and benefits. The NRB also plans to register Malawians residing in the United States and the United Kingdom.

The move is part of the government’s efforts to ensure that all Malawians, regardless of their location, have access to essential documents that prove their identity and citizenship.

In a related development, the NRB Principal Secretary has cautioned staff against soliciting bribes in the course of carrying out their duties.
