Nikki Glaser’s Most Savage Pop Culture Jokes: Golden Globes and More

No one goes there quite like Nikki Glaser.

While the comedian made major headlines in May 2024 for her epic set at The Roast of Tom Brady, which streamed live on Netflix, it certainly wasn’t the first time she came for some of the biggest names in Hollywood. Glaser was also a force at Comedy Central roasts for Rob Lowe, Bruce Willis and Alec Baldwin. She’s since given insight into how she prepares for the big events, revealing she practices her jokes at stand-up sets for weeks leading up to the taping.

Glaser took the same approach for the Golden Globes Awards, which she hosted for the first time in January 2025.

“I have I think nine shows between now and Sunday, because I want to keep testing out jokes and I want to keep getting the monologue in the [most] perfect place it can be,” Glaser told The Hollywood Reporter days before the ceremony. “Not every host does that. I’m lucky enough to be a comedian who can go and find these rehearsal spaces in front of a live audience, and I trust my audience members to not leak jokes or tell anyone. And we have enough jokes that even if they do, I’ll be OK.”

Why Nikki Glaser Cut Joke About Tom Brady Making Out With His Son From Roast

From Brady to Cybill Shepherd to Joseph Gordon-Levitt, keep reading for some of Glaser’s most savage jokes over the years:

Jewel

“Jewel is here, so as I call her, Trailer Swift. Jewel, I do not want to badmouth you since God already did. … Your teeth are like the Spice Girls, they’re all different colors and doing their own things.” (Roast of Rob Lowe)

Peyton Manning

“I love you in commercials. I’d say you’re the greatest of all time. You’re like the Tom Brady of commercials. Like, the greatest.” (Roast of Rob Lowe)

Rob Lowe

“Rob defies age … restrictions. God, I had such a crush on you when I was a little girl. If only I had known that’s when I had my best shot.” (Roast of Rob Lowe)

Martha Stewart

“Martha Stewart, shank you for being here . … I’m a huge fan and my mom is an even bigger fan. My mom has learned everything from Martha Stewart, including cooking, cleaning and withholding affection.” (Roast of Bruce Willis)

Joseph Gordon-Levitt

“He’s so cute, so adorable. I bet you eat p****, but only with the crust cut off first. Isn’t that his look? Speaking of crusty p****, I’ll get to you in a second, Cybill.” (Roast of Bruce Willis)

Cybill Shepherd

“Cybill’s gorgeous. I’m, like, honored to meet her. Her résumé is insane — model, actor, singer. You name it, she’s f***ed it.” (Roast of Bruce Willis)

Bruce Willis

“Your daughters must be so proud of their father … Ashton Kutcher.” (Roast of Bruce Willis)

Caitlyn Jenner

“You are such an incredible athlete. People forget just how fast you once ran … from your first family to go be on a reality show. Seriously, I know being a new mom is hard, but even Casey Anthony knows the current location of her daughter.” (Roast of Alec Baldwin)

Blake Griffin

“Blake, you look like a Black guy that got made by a printer running out of ink. Yeah. Chris Redd is here because Comedy Central wasn’t sure if Blake was Black or not.” (Roast of Alec Baldwin)

Alec Baldwin

“Alec Baldwin, what an honor to be here roasting Justin Bieber‘s wife’s oldest, fattest uncle. I’ll never forget that voicemail when you called your daughter Ireland [Baldwin] a thoughtless little pig. It’s got to be one of the worst things you can call your daughter — after Ireland, actually. That name, yikes.” (Roast of Alec Baldwin)

Kevin Hart

“No one works harder than this man. Do you know that every morning Kevin wakes up at 4 a.m. to make a s***ty movie? No, I love your movies. Or as I call them ‘short films.’ No, I’m kidding. I hate them. No, sorry, Kevin, I don’t mean to belittle you, but you ‘be little,’ man. Like, you’re a tiny guy. Kevin is 5-foot-2, 150 pounds. Um, 155 after The Rock finishes.” (Roast of Tom Brady)

Nikki Glaser: It’s ‘Impossible’ Tom Brady Didn’t Consider Roast Backlash

Drew Bledsoe

“But let’s get to the reason we’re all here tonight. Uh, Drew Bledsoe. ‘Drew bled so Tom could run.’ But I’m gonna move on from you, just like your team did after you almost died.” (Roast of Tom Brady)

Tom Brady

“Tom Brady, five-time Super Bowl MVP, most career wins, most career touchdowns, you have seven rings. … Well, eight now that Gisele [Bündchen] gave hers back, but … Tom, the only thing dumber than you saying yes to this roast was when you said, ‘Hey, babe, you should try jiujitsu.’” (Roast of Tom Brady)

“I mean, you’re the best to ever play for too long. I mean … you retired, then you came back, and then you retired again. I get it. Hard to walk away from something that’s not your pregnant girlfriend. Hey. To be fair, he didn’t know she was pregnant. He just thought she was getting fat.” (Roast of Tom Brady)

Rob Gronkowski

“Tom also lost $30 million in crypto. Tom, how did you fall for that? I mean, even Gronk was like, ‘Me know that not real money.’” (Roast of Tom Brady)

Ben Affleck

While Affleck wasn’t present at the 2025 Golden Globes, Glaser gave him a shout-out in her opening monologue.

“Tonight, we celebrate the best of film and hold space for television,” she said. “Yes, Wicked, Queer, Nightbitch: These are not just words Ben Affleck yells after he orgasms. These are some of the incredible movies nominated tonight.”

Diddy

The disgraced music mogul was also referenced in her 2025 Golden Globes monologue.

Zendaya, you were incredible in Dune [2]. Oh, my God, I woke up for all of your scenes. You were so good,” Glaser told the actress. “And Challengers, girl? It was so good. I mean, that movie was more sexually charged than Diddy’s credit card.”

She added, “Oh, I’m upset too. The afterparty’s not going to be good this year. But, we have to move on. A Stanley Tucci freak off just doesn’t have the same ring to it. No baby oil this year, just lots of olive oil.”

Benny Blanco

During the 2025 Golden Globes that January, Glaser congratulated Blanco on proposing to Selena Gomez one month earlier.

“Benny Blanco is here because of the genie who granted him that wish,” she quipped. “Man, lucky guy!”

Gomez was seen pointing up at the stage in response.

After hosting SNL in November 2025, Glaser received backlash after telling a joke about sex trafficking in her monologue.

“I think I’m just paranoid and I think I’m just obsessed with slavery recently because every time you go … to a public women’s restroom and you sit in the stall, there’s always a poster on the back of the stall that’s asking you if you’re being trafficked,” she said. “They’re in every stall. They’re in every world language. The English is really tiny and it’s like, ‘You wish.’”

Glaser continued, “Men’s restrooms do not have these signs. I don’t know what signs you have? You have signs that are like, ‘Want a slave? Text Traffick to 69-69.’”

The comedian also shared that her younger friends were fearful about it.

“It’s really a big fear of being trafficked, mostly for Gen Z girls,” she said. “I have a lot of Gen Z friends that I bought … and they’re terrified. I don’t relate. I’m 41. That was not a fear of mine ever in my 20s. In my 20s, I just feared good old-fashioned rape. I didn’t think it would be a career. We didn’t think it was anything more than a ‘temp job’ on a frat house futon.”

Glaser relayed the feeling to relate to her younger friends who told her she was “good” since they felt “safer” when she was around because she looked like their “madam.” Glaser also made a reference to Ghislaine Maxwell, who was an associate of the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Michael B. Jordan

Glaser gave a raunchy shout-out to the Sinners actor during the Golden Globes in January 2026 — with his mom in the audience.

“We can’t talk about movies without talking about Sinners,” she said. “I mean, Sinners single-handedly saved Warner Bros. for about a month, but still. Michael B. Jordan is nominated for Best Actor, so good, and in Sinners, [he] played two brothers.”

She added, “When I saw that, I was like, ‘Nikki-be-jerkin’ because that was awesome. I’m sorry, Michael. Why did I make that joke? [You’re here with] your mom. I should not have said that to you. That should have been [in] a DM. My mistake. I love you, you’re amazing.”

Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson Set to Be Focus of Vice TV’s New Doc

Vice TV’s new docuseries, Out of Bounds, will reportedly focus on Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson in its premiere episode.

According to an article published by The Hollywood Reporter on Thursday, November 20, the controversial couple will be the subject of the first episode of the docoseries, which examines sports controversies.

Belichick, 73, and Hudson, 24, who have been romantically linked since 2023, have set tongues wagging over the years due to their 48-year age gap.

The outlet reported that Pro Bowl wide receiver Antonio Brown will be the subject of another episode, while sports gambling will be examined in another upcoming instalment. Out of Bounds is set to premiere on December 16.

A Timeline of Bill Belichick’s Relationship With 24-Year-Old Jordon Hudson

“At Vice TV, our sports programming caters to fans who want more than highlights — they want the stories behind the headlines,” Vice TV president Peter Gaffney said in a statement, per The Hollywood Reporter. “Out of Bounds delivers that with fearless storytelling and a cultural lens that only Vice can bring. We’re proud to partner with Vice Studios to give our viewers a front row seat inside some of the most fascinating sports stories of our time.”

The docuseries comes after Hulu scrapped its planned docuseries about Belichick last month, according to Inside Carolina.

Hulu and producer EverWonder Studios had planned to create a docuseries about Belichick and his job as Tar Heels head coach, according to Front Office Sports.

Prior to the Hulu agreement falling through, another project reportedly involving Belichick also did not come to fruition.

HBO and the University of North Carolina were reportedly in agreement to feature the Tar Heels’ football team in a season of Hard Knocks.

However, the plans fell apart at the eleventh hour, allegedly in part due to the involvement of Hudson.

The Athletic reported in April that when North Carolina’s deal with HBO fell through, Hudson “played an instrumental role in stopping the production, related to her request to be heavily involved in the project.”

Belichick and Hudson’s age-gap relationship has been the butt of many jokes over the years, including on The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady in May 2024.

“Coach, you used to talk about Foxborough High School when we sucked,” former Patriot Rob Gronkowski joked during the roast. “But now I know why you were so obsessed with Foxborough High School: you were scouting your new girlfriend!”

Brady also poked fun at Belichick and Hudson during the TV roast, referencing Ring camera footage that leaked and made headlines several months earlier. In the security footage Belichick was seen exiting Hudson’s home.

“When somebody asked me which ring was my favorite, I used to say, ‘The next one,’” Brady quipped. “Now that I’m retired, my favorite is that Ring camera that caught Coach Belichick slinking out of that poor girl’s house at 6 a.m. a few months ago.”

Later that year, the couple made their red carpet debut at the American Museum of Natural History’s 2024 Museum Gala in New York, which was held in December.

“The evening was saturated with all of my favourite things: friendship, education, philanthropy, glamour, beet salad, Billy, dance-worthy music, ornithological & oceanic exhibits,” Hudson shared via Instagram at the time. “We created so many great memories together while supporting a great cause; my heart is filled to the brim!!!”

NFL: The Miami Dolphins Miracle touchdown

What was Rob Gronkowski doing out there? (Michael Reaves/Getty Images)

By Adam Kilgore

The Miami Dolphins’ last-second, double-lateral, walk-off miracle touchdown Sunday afternoon knocked American TV viewers off their couches, unleashed a torrent of indecipherable shrieks and stunned both poles of the Eastern Seaboard. It was a play that happens once or twice every couple of decades. After the initial shock wore off, another reality started to set in, one nearly as shocking and rare as the play itself.

According to many NFL diehards, Bill Belichick screwed up the end of the game. Completely botched it. In more ways than one.

The Dolphins’ execution was sublime, but they received help from Belichick’s decision on the final play and what led to it. The obvious mistake Belichick made was to insert tight end Rob Gronkowski as the deepest defender on the play. It was a thoughtless error, a rote concession to routine, the kind of botch Belichick never makes.

Gronkowski has for years been the Patriots’ last line of defense against Hail Mary passes. His height and physicality makes Gronkowski ideal for the role. But the Dolphins’ snapped the final play from the Miami 31-yard line with seven seconds left. To believe Miami would run a Hail Mary, you’d have to believe the Dolphins would trust quarterback Ryan Tannehill to throw a pass 75 yards in the air. Miami’s only choice, it should have been obvious, was to run some of kind lateral-heavy play.

Gronkowski’s presence was not only unnecessary. It was detrimental. The Patriots’ final defender should have been their fastest player who is also a sure tackler. When Kenyan Drake bolted through the Patriots’ secondary, Gronkowski stumbled, lost any angle to chase him and watched helplessly as Drake sped into the end zone. But you couldn’t blame Gronkowski. You could only blame Belichick for putting him out there.

Miami Dolphins
The Miami Dolphins’ last-second, double-lateral, walk-off miracle touchdown Sunday afternoon knocked viewers off their couches

Review the final play closer, and another curious tactical choice by Belichick sticks out. Linebacker Kyle Van Noy lines up on the right side of the line and, rather than pressure Tannehill, drops back and spies him. On a Hail Mary, that might be an effective move — it would keep the quarterback from escaping the pocket and buying time. But on a play with multiple laterals, it would basically force the Patriots to play with 10 defenders.

Van Noy hustled back into the play, but he couldn’t recover. He was right behind Kenyan Drake when Drake caught DeVante Parker’s lateral at the Miami 48. At the Patriots’ 43, Van Noy dives for Drake’s ankles and comes up just short. Had Van Noy simply dropped into coverage rather than pointlessly hovering around the line of scrimmage, he may have made the disaster-saving tackle or otherwise help the play stall.

The Patriots could have prevented Miami from running the play at all had Belichick chosen a better endgame strategy. The Patriots led by two points and faced fourth and goal at the Miami 4-yard line with 21 seconds left. Miami had used all of its timeouts. Belichick chose to kick a field goal, which served the purpose of putting the Patriots up by more than a field goal.

But what the Patriots should have done is tried to score a touchdown. Converting the field goal and then kicking off left the Dolphins one play to score a touchdown from 69 yards away, with no opportunity to completely seal the game. Had the Patriots gone for the touchdown on fourth down but failed, it would have left the Dolphins about 15 seconds — three plays at most — to move 60 yards with no timeouts to kick an extremely long field goal: a very unlikely proposition. And if the Patriots scored the touchdown, the game would have been over, period.

Either choice would have left the Dolphins about a 1 percent shot to win. Miami needed a miracle. But trying for a touchdown at least would have given the Patriots a chance to dial that percentage to zero.

No matter what choices Belichick made in the final seconds, the Dolphins needed a combination of perfect execution and divine intervention. Tannehill made a great throw. Kenny Stills made an acrobatic catch, showed patience in setting up a lateral and made a perfect pitch. Parker made a quick, well-placed pitch. Drake flashed immense speed and great instincts in weaving laterally through the defense before sprinting down the right sideline. The Dolphins were perfect.

But they still shouldn’t have been able to pull it off. Belichick, maybe the greatest coach of all time, enabled one of the greatest plays of all time. The loss prevented New England from clinching the AFC East and could prove critical in the Patriots’ chances of earning home-field advantage and/or a first-round bye. The shock will not wear off any time soon.
