LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Enos Chatama’s boys outclassed Silver Strikers Reserve at Dimba ground Kapiri-Mchinji to win the MK2.5 million Trophy Championship on Sunday 2nd January 2022.
Silver Strikers’ defence was caught off guard within third minute of the game and Patrick Mwaungulu made no mistake to score an opener.
Mpulula’s boys reacted too fast as they reorganized themselves launching dangerous attacks and this paid dividend as Levison Gopani scored an equalizer at fifteenth (15) minute in a situation in which Bullets goalie, Clever Nkungula, could have done better than what he did. After quarter an hour Madalitso Maso came with the second for Silver.
After this goal they thought they have killed it all but it was never to be as Bullets came up with brain blowing ideas to make sure the Young Bankers are torn apart and yes Chikumbutso Salima scored to put it level at 35th minute.First 45 minutes ended in a two all level.
Second half both teams started slowly than in the first half in which they both searched for early goals. Mpulula’s boys looked porous in wings in which Bullets capitalized.
Emmanuel Saviel,Patrick Mwaungulu,Chikumbutso Salima and Stanley Billiat shined making Silver defence ever busy no wonder Chikumbutso Salima netted his second goal to put the Young Palestinians on the lead this time they were untouchable controlling the whole pitch as Silver Strikers Reserve were reduced to nothing and ended up dancing to their own tunes while others were busy chasing their own shadows.
With 20 minutes to go,Patrick Mwaungulu scored another beauty to seal his brace and to assure Enos Chatama of fourth trophy this season.
Referee, William Chidambo, who officiated the game in a professional manner ended the match and yes it was confirmed Nyasa Big Bullets Reserve have managed to conquer Central region and taking with them Dimba Trophy to Blantyre passing with it at Chingeni Toll gate.Patrick Mwaungulu was later voted man of the match.
After the match Enos Chatama, Nyasa Big Bullets Reserve Coach, was happy for the victory and for the fourth trophy this season and hailed his boys for the grant performance in the tournament saying the journey was tough as they met Central Region teams for the very first time.
He described the finals against Silver as an easy one saying it was a walkover comparing with the past three games they played against, St Gabriel Medicals, Extreme FC and Kamuzu Barracks RSV.
Leo Mpulula was saddened with the defeat saying they gave away silly goals and promised to go back to their drawing board to prepare well for the next season.
Nyasa Big Bullets Reserve have taken home K1 million as a grand prize while runners up Silver Strikers Reserve received MK500,000.Chikumbutso Salima won top goal scorers award with three goals.
Patrick Mwaungulu won player of the tournament award. Clever Nkungula Bullets Reserve goalie has won best goalkeeper of the tournament while Enos Chatama is Coach of the tournament. Kamuzu Barracks Youth has won most disciplined team.
