KISARAWE-(MaraviPost)-Tanzanian President John Pombe Magufuli has amused citizens in his country after he advised men in Kisarawe district to “wake up” and marry Jokate Mwegelo, one of the most beautiful government officials in the country.
Mwegelo, 33, previously dated bongo star Nasibu Abdul Juma Issack, popularly known by his stage name Diamond Platnumz before the duo broke up.
Speaking while launching a water project in Kisarawe, the witty president wondered why men from the Zaramo community were afraid to approach the district commissioner who is a former media personality.
“The district commissioner here (referring to Mwegelo) had done an excellent job. What surprises me is that at her age she it yet to get a man and get married yet she is very beautiful. Men here are just looking at her but afraid to approach her,”said Magufuli.
Mwegelo alias Kidoti shook Tanzanians and her worldwide fans in 2018 after blatantly claiming she did not know why she fell in love and dated Diamond, a well known womaniser.
“I don’t know, for real I don’t know. Its emotions and feelings. There are some things you cannot explain. I can’t explain. I would have told you if I knew,” Jokate said.
She dated the singer for a while before they parted ways as she moved on to the the ext relationship with his nemesis Ali Kiba but broke up with him too.
Mwegelo is one of Tanzania’s youngest influential leaders and entrepreneurs.
In 2017, she was included in Forbes 30 under 30 in Africa . She was also named among the 100 Most Influential Young Africans by Africa Youth Awards in the same year.
The 2018 most influential young Tanzanians by Avance Media placed her as the third most influential young Tanzanian and the most influential young Tanzanian under the category of law and governance.
