BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-TNM Mpamba Limited and ESCOM have taken their seven-year strategic partnership to another level by launching a service which enables ESCOM customers to purchase electricity units at any TNM Mpamba agent.
Previously, the service integration enabledonlyMpamba customersthe ability to buy ESCOM prepaid units as well as settle their post-paid bills on their own using their Mpamba customer wallets.
“The new service is an extension of the existing partnership. It is bringing convenience to those that are not able to buy electricity units on their own through the Mpamba platformas they can now go to their nearest Mpamba agent to buy ESCOM units,” said Chikhulupiliro Mphatso, TNM Mpamba General Manager.
The new service is all inclusive as it is enabling all ESCOM customers to enjoy MPAMBA services.
“As a Malawian company, we understand the needs of Malawians, hence adding an innovative service to the line of products being offered under the partnership. Any ESCOM customer regardless of their network will now be able to purchase ESCOM prepaid units from any TNM Mpamba agent nationwide.
“This will help Malawians save on transport and time as Mpamba agents are closer to their homes,” he said.
Mphatso said TNM Mpamba believes that the new service fortifies the uptake of digital payment systems in the country.
“Digital transformation is having a massive impact on bill payments because people are opting for convenient ways of paying for services. The introduction of the new way of purchasing ESCOM units enhances the electronic bill payment drive,” added Mphatso.
ESCOM’s Commercial and Customer Services Manager, Wiseman Kabwazi revered the new service saying TNM Mpamba simplifies the purchase of electricity units for Malawians.
“ESCOM, as a utility company, believes that the new service is to benefit many stakeholders. The partnership with TNM Mpamba Ltd offers business opportunity for small businesses. For the customers, it brings along a very significant number of additional outlets for Magetsi Units. And another plus for this service is that Customers will not be charged any fee for the service and hence more Magetsi units for the money they pay,” said Kabwazi.
Wiseman Kabwazi further added that ESCOM intends to double the customer base in the next 5yrs and as such this service comes handy in that it will support electrification drive for both urban and rural areas since customers will access Magetsi Units within their locations.
