LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Party leaders of four political parties taking part in the May 21 tripartite elections are behind closed doors stretching out a coalition to unseat incumbent Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) President Peter Mutharika.

Our sister media house Zodiak on Thursday evening posted on its social media that the big guns are in closed door negotiation since early Thursday morning.

The parties are Saulos Chilima’s United Transformation Movement (UTM), former President Joyce Banda’s People’s Party, Enoch Chihana’s  Alliance for Democracy (AFORD), and Tikonze by former vice president Cassim Chilumpha.

The parties are expected to seal the deal today, Friday ahead of next week presentation of nomination papers to Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC).
