At least fifteen crew members of a Spanish fishing boat have died after it sank off Canada’s east coast.
The Spanish coastguard spokesperson confirmed the news in a statement.

According to the coastguard, rescuers managed to saved three of the 22 crew members on board who were found in a lifeboat suffering from hypothermia.
The accident happened off the Canada’s east coast on Monday night and among the crew members, twelve were Spanish nationals, eight from Peru and the rest from Ghana, AFP reported.
The Spanish government has disclosed that it is following the rescue operation with concern.
The fishing vessel, a freezer trawler registered in 2004, was based in the port of Marin in Galicia and belongs to shipowner Manuel Nores.
The company, founded in 1950, has eight freezer trawlers and some 300 employees, according to its web site.
