KIGALI-(MaraviPost)-The Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB) has arrested the organiser for Miss Rwanda beauty pageant Dieudonne Ishimwe, over sexual assault allegations.
Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB) spokesperson Thierry Murangira, confirmed the arrested in a statement on Wednesday, April 27, 2022.
Murangira said the former musician popularly known as Prince Kid allegedly sexually assaulting the former contestants of Miss Rwanda at various times.
Ishimwe is the head of Rwanda Inspiration Backup, the company behind the annual Miss Rwanda pageant.
His arrest comes after the organisation announced last week that a former Miss Rwanda had resigned as communications director after four years with the company, Barrons reported.
He is currently being held at RIB Remera station as investigations continue and RIB disclosed that his file will be handed over to prosecution when investigations are complete.
Miss Rwanda debuted in the global Miss World competition in 2016.
The country bills itself as the East African country’s leading beauty pageant.
