LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-In recognition of their dedication and punctuality, 531 Primary School teachers have been honoured with awards by Nascent Solutions.
The organisation, with a mission to enhance literacy instruction in primary schools, acknowledges that the performance of teachers plays a vital role in achieving this goal. To ensure accountability, Nascent implemented a project that monitors daily attendance and log-in times of teachers.
Out of the 824 teachers collaborating with Nascent across various districts such as Lilongwe, Ntcheu, Chiradzulo, Thyolo, Mulanje, and Kasungu, 531 have met the requirements to receive a certificate and a golf-shirt as a token of appreciation.
Speaking during the presentation ceremony in the capital Lilongwe, the Director for Basic Education, Grace Milner urged all teachers not only to be present at schools but also to actively engage in teaching activities.
Milner stressed that the Ministry will investigate the reasons for other teachers’ failure to receive the awards.
One of the best teacher awardees, Stephen Kaphuka of Mavundikira Primary School in Mzumanzi Zone, Lilongwe Rural West said: “We are greatly motivated and we will continue working hard.”
Margaret Chauluka, the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer for Nascent, said the project’s significance extends beyond Nascent Solutions itself.
She emphasized the project’s alignment with the Ministry of Education’s objectives and appealed to the honoured teachers to continue striving for excellence in their profession.
The Ministry of Education has pledged to provide essential policy guidance to assist Nascent Solutions in its projects.
This collaborative effort aims to enhance the quality of education and accomplish the desired results
