LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-A Lilongwe permaculture laborer, Yeremia Maliko has emerged as an overall win of MK10 million grand prize in the Switch to Standard Bank and Win Promotion.
Maliko who stay at Mchezi along Lilongwe-Salima road was unveiled during a grand draw on Friday night, November 24, 2023, at Standard Bank’s Head office in the capital Lilongwe.
Maliko, who disclosed that he is currently a laborer at a permaculture institute in the district could not believe when Standard Bank plc Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Phillip Madinga broke the news to him via a phone call.
The winner was overwhelmed with the promotion’s outcome while urging other customers to embrace the bank’s financial solutions
In his remarks, Standard Bank CEO Madinga disclosed that through the promotion the customer base has grown by 14%.
“We are glad to note a 14% increase in new customers joining the Bank and 4% more loans processed and approved since we launched this promotion.
“Switch your salary and Win aimed at engaging customers through the bank’s value proposition, advanced solutions, and improved service. The cash prizes were deliberately chosen so that winners can then direct funds to their most urgent needs,” he said.
Madinga adds, “Standard Bank has vowed to continue driving the growth of Malawi and remains committed to continuously transforming lives through its product and service portfolio.
“Centered on the Bank’s global network, wide local physical network, globally accepted care, and class-leading digital services. The focus moving forward is on ensuring a simplified onboarding process, with the objective of giving customers the best banking experience”.
Through the promotion, Malawians were encouraged to move their salary accounts from other banks to Standard Bank, which in turn takes over their loans and offers a flexible repayment of up to five years.
However, existing account holders needed only to open a Pure Save account.
