Chakwera in Tanzania for Africa Energy Summit

DODOMA-(MaraviPost)-President Lazarus Chakwera, has landed in Dar es Salaam, United Republic of Tanzania, to participate in the Mission 300 Africa Energy Summit.

This two-day summit, organized by the World Bank Group, unites 13 African Heads of State and various partners to promote the Mission 300 initiative.

The initiative aims at enhancing energy access and expediting the continent’s transition to clean energy, in line with the Dar es Salaam Energy Declaration that will be ratified by the attending Heads of State.

At this prestigious summit, President Chakwera will also oversee the signing of a significant US$300 million compact recently approved by the World Bank, which is crucial for Malawi to achieve universal energy and electricity access by 2030.

Accompanied by First Lady Madam Monica Chakwera, the President is scheduled to return home on Wednesday, January 29, 2025.
