Mozambican president Daniel Chapo jets in Malawi for diplomatic talks with Chakwera

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Mozambican president Daniel Chapo arrived on Thursday morning, June 5, 2025 in Malawi through Kamuzu International Airport (KIA) in the capital Lilongwe.

Upon arrival, Mozambican leader was welcomed by Malawi Veep Michael Usi and Foreign Affairs Minister Nancy Tembo.

Chapo went straight to Kamuzu Palace for talks with President Lazarus Chakwera.

The Mozambican president is on a two day visit in the country to hold bilateral discussions with Malawi president Lazarus Chakwera.

The visit also focuses on further deepening the bilateral relations between the two countries.

The two presidents will also jointly launch the Dedza One-Stop Border Post on Friday, June 6.

The facility is expected to enhance cross-border cooperations and trade between the two countries.

The visit by the Mozambican president is under the theme Fifty Years of Enhancing Malawi-Mozambique Diplomatic Relations for Shared Prosperity.

Chapo will return to Mozambique on Friday afternoon.
