LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The Ministry of Higher Education has launched a fully online application system for the Initial Primary Teachers Education (IPTE) programme in public Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs) across Malawi.

This move is part of the government’s efforts to enhance the quality of education and make the application process more efficient.

According to Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Jessie Kabwila, the online system will enable candidates to apply from anywhere with internet access, reducing costs and increasing accessibility for disadvantaged groups.

The automated processing will also minimize errors and ensure a fair and transparent selection process.

The IPTE programme is a two-year course that leads to a Primary School Teachers Certificate awarded by the Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB).

With this new system, aspiring teachers can now apply online, marking a significant step towards modernizing the education sector.

The government’s initiative aims to promote merit and equity in the selection process, while also reducing the lengthy and expensive process associated with manual applications.

This development is expected to benefit many Malawians who aspire to become primary school teachers.
