After hosting a successful Good Friday bash to raise funds for school needy children, the country’s local youth charitable organization, Area 25 Friends for Development (AFDEV) still appeal for the financial support to reach many.

The grouping is into hygienic, sanitary and education projects for residents.  This is a bid to improve the well-being of the residence with locally mobilized resources.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with The Maravi Post over the weekend, Geoffrey Kunje, AFDEV’ Chairperson expressed gratitude on the proceeds gotten out of the fundraising though it did not meet a MK1 million target.

Kunje said more resources are required to meet the large demand of school needy and improvement of sanitary facilities at Area 25 Health Centre which are in bad state.

“We sincerely, thank those who answered to our call for the fundraising party on Good Friday that their support was appreciated as some are still coming with various items for the same course. We realize half of the target which will utilize it especially for the school needy children, partially renovating sanitary health facilities at our Area 25 Health Centre and an orphanage.

“With the high demand on the ground, the grouping will continue to mobilize resources in achieving the objective of trying to make Area 25, a better place to live. This is the reason we are still appealing for more material and financial support from business captains, politicians, government officials living in Area 25.

“Their support can be channeled through our to our secretariat based at Msungwi Market at Area 2, in the capital Lilongwe through these contacts; Tell: +265 (0) 888 702 822/ +265 (0) 993 074 594, Email: afdevngo@yahoo.com”, appeals Kunje.

Established as a non-governmental, non-profit making, non-political Organization primarily formulated by reputable individuals from Area 25 in Lilongwe district, .Area 25 Friends for Development (AFDEV) is dedicated to improving the lives of rural people in Malawi through education, humanitarian, social-economic and development programs.
