Chakwera and Chilima addressing the media after the ruling
LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The Malawi Supreme Court of Appeal judges on Thursday, March 12, 2020 unanimously rejected President Peter Mutharika and Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) appeal to suspend the Constitutional Court ruling on the election case.
The court has therefore sustained February 3, 2020’s Constitutional Court (ConCourt) ruling that nullified the May 21, 2019 presidential elections.
This means the country will go into fresh presidential elections within 150 days as ordered by ConCourt.
