LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Standard Bank’s 247 Moments digital platform usage among customers has grown up by 43%.
This is the platform made up mobile, online and application customers use for effective money transactions.
The platform growth has been necessitated by the ongoing Swipe, Fly & win promotion in which customers are encouraged to purchase South African Airways (SAA) tickets by paying using POS machine.
The purchase is done in all the airline’s offices across the country and any designated SAA travel agent.
During second draw of the promotion conducted at its head office in the capital Lilongwe on March 13, 2020, witnessed a 41 year-old Castel Malawi worker Ludovicko Dambe based at Soche East, Blantyre winning a trip to South Africa.
When called on the prize, Dambe encouraged other customers to transact using POS machine for booking SAA tickets.
Standard Bank’s Head of Personal Markets and Products, Charity Mughogho observed that the promotion has registered notable strides in terms of business returns.
“We have seen growth of 43% in value transactions the dawn of 2020 comparison with 2019. We remained confident that our customers will continue to transact using POS when booking SAA tickets for greater convenience,” says Mughogho.
Lawrence Gwaza, SAA Team leader for Commercial and Sales Lilongwe Market says the promotion has increased efficiency, expanded payment capabilities, ease of use and matching technology environment.
Gwaza however noted that Coronavirus pandemic has affected the business negatively saying major flights to Europe, Asia and America have been cancelled.
Swipe, Fly & win promotion’s grand prize will be a 3-night accommodation trip to South Africa’s port city of Cape Town plus US$1,000 to spend.
