LIKOMA-(MaraviPost)-An aircraft belonging to Ulendo Airlink overshot from a runway at about 10:30 AM on Thursday at Likoma Airport.
According to the Spokesperson for the Ministry of Transport, James Chakwera, and a statement from Ulendo Airlink Company, the aircraft, Cessna C210, had two passengers on board and a pilot.
Chakwera further said the aircraft had difficulties to touch down because of a fault in its braking system.
None of the passengers sustained any injuries, but the pilot was rushed to Likoma Island Hospital for medical assessment after experiencing a minor head abrasion. He has since been discharged.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Transport, through Civil Aviation Department has sent two officials to assess the magnitude of the accident.
Ulendo Airlink is an airline company that has been operating flights to Likoma Island for over ten years.
