LILONGWE (MaraviPost) – Big Brother auditions have began today in Malawi’s capital Lilongwe with scores of young people turning up on the first day.
The auditions, for the continent’s most celebrated three month long reality show, are being supervised by MultiChoice Malawi. They are going to go on until Wednesday this week.
MultiChoice Malawi Marketing Manager Chimwemwe Nyirenda said “unlike the previous years, there is no need to fill in registration forms this year.”
He said interested participants must simply be over 21 years of age, Malawian citizens as well as possessors of a valid passport.
The reality show, worth US$300 000 of prize money, kicks off in Johannesburg from September 7.
It will be beamed live on DSTV channels as well as Gotv.
Some of Malawi’s former participants include Hazel Warren and musician Code Sangala.
