BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-FCB Nyasa Big Bullets have strongly condemned the acts of violence and hooliganism that marred their TNM Super League fixture against Karonga United on Sunday, August 10, 2025 at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.

In a statement released by the club, Bullets expressed deep disappointment over the conduct of some unruly supporters whom after the final whistle stormed onto the pitch and vandalized the team bus.

The individuals also reportedly threatened players and officials following a 3-3 draw a match in which the hosts had been leading 3-1 until the 77th minute.

The club said such behaviour undermines their ongoing efforts to make football venues accessible and safe for all supporters, regardless of the match outcome.

Bullets also warned that such incidents risk damaging their reputation and jeopardising the support they receive from various sponsors.

“We wish to remind all our supporters that there are appropriate channels to express grievances. We will not tolerate anyone tarnishing the image of this great club,” the statement read.

Bullets further confirmed that they will work closely with law enforcement agencies to identify those responsible and ensure that the law takes its course.

Meanwhile, the Super League of Malawi (SULOM) has launched an investigation into the violence. According to SULOM, findings from the inquiry will be forwarded to their disciplinary committee, which will decide on the appropriate sanctions.

If Bullets are found liable for their supporters’ actions, the club could face heavy fines or other penalties.

The chaotic scenes have reignited concerns over matchday security in Malawi’s top-flight league, with football authorities urging clubs and supporters to uphold sportsmanship and ensure stadiums remain safe spaces for players, officials, and fans alike.
