29 year old Malawian arrested for possession of Prescription Medicines?

Malawi, Lilongwe: 29 year Chosadziwa Kalodza is in Police custody in Kawale for possessing medical drugs illegally.

According to Lilongwe Police Public Relations Officer, Kingsley Dandaula, the suspect was nabbed on Friday while in transit to Chilinde at Chipasula junction where traffic police were doing routine checks.

Tanzania DC calls for joint development planning and implementation

Chitipa, January 4: District Commissioner for Ileje District, in Tanzania, Rosemary Staki Senyamule  has said Ileje and  Chitipa Districts can easily attain socioeconomic growth if the two districts engage in  joint planning and implementation of development programmes  which intend to address similar challenges impinging on the people of the two sides.

She made the remarks Wednesday during New Year’s cerebrations held at Chitipa Secondary School Hall at Chitipa Boma.

Malawi MP for Zomba donates Ambulance to Constituency

Zomba, January 4:  As one way of reducing under five and maternal deaths in the country, Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Member of Parliament for Zomba Lisanjala Constituency Enock Elias Luka donated an ambulance to the constituency.

The donation of the ambulance will assist in reducing referral problems at Mambo and Nkasala Health Centres in the constituency.

Malawi VP Chilima drums support for Lilongwe rainstorm victims

Lilongwe, January 4: Vice President Saulos Chilima, Saturday appealed for support for the families who were left homeless following heavy and stormy rains that fell on Friday night in Lilongwe.

Chilima, visited some of the affected homes and institutions – or what remained of them – in the locations of Ngomani and Kauma where he expressed government’s concern regarding the tragedy which, apart from leaving hundreds homeless, claimed life of ten-year-old girl in Kauma location.
