ABUJA-(MaraviPost)-President Lazarus Chakwera on Friday, June 27, 2025 met the Africa’s richest man Aliko Dangote for business venture in Malawi.
Chakwera met Dangote during the sidelines of AFREXIM Bank summit in Abuja, Nigeria.
Writing on his Facebook page, The Malawi leader says, “On Friday, I engaged in a forward-looking discussion with President of Dangote Group, Mr. Aliko Dangote, in a bid to explore trade and investment opportunities that his business empire can establish in Malawi.
“I shared with him an overview of Malawi’s economy and singled out opportunities for investment in Agriculture, Tourism, Mining plus Manufacturing”.
Chakwera adds, “During the interface, I applauded Mr. Dangote for believing in the potential of Africans by investing in strategic sectors across the continent. I learn from his sentiments that he is fully aware of how significant it is for African entrepreneurs to take lead in investing on the continent in sectors that will expedite economic growth.
“We have since established a direct point of contact through which we will commence discussions on modalities of market entry for the Dangote Group in Malawi”.
