CHITIPA-(MaraviPost)-Malawi Vice president and Tonse Alliance runningmate, Dr Saulos Chilima on Monday, June 15, 2020 donated MK1 million for renovation of Traditional Authority (T.A) office in Chitipa district.
Chilima, donated this money at Lufita where he conducted his second whistle stop tour in the district.
“I have done this because it’s pitty to see how Chiefs suffer in this our country,, this can not be an office for the traditional authority yet they claim they with them,” he added.
“Chiefs are supposed to be respected however in Malawi the minimum wage for government is MK40,000 yet chiefs are given MK2, 500 per month. I wonder where the other MK37,500 goes to,” wondered Chilima.
He promised therefore gathering cheap fertilizer, three meals per day and more than 1 million jobs to the youths within the first 100 days once voted into power.
Chilima however urged Chitipa residents to vote wisely particularly Tonse Alliance Torchbearer Dr. Lazarus Chakwera on the forthcoming fresh presidential elections slated for June 23, 2020.
The UTM leader therefore encouraged the resident to go in large numbers on polls day.
