DPP will win Malawi’s May 21 polls if opposition parties are not united”-Kamlepo

By Victoria Milanzi

BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-People’s Party (PP) Member of Parliament (MP) Kamlepo Kalua says the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) will continue ruling Malawi if opposition parties are not united.

Through a statement posted on his Facebook page Kamlepo said divided opposition is a weak opponent.

“If the opposition is not united and everyone in the opposition wants to be President and you supporters in the opposition are tolerating this, DPP will win the elections”. Whether you like it or not, hate me or love me but a divided opposition is a weak Opponent for DPP”, he said.

He added that only if we have one Presidential Candidate can the opposition win.

“Presidential candidates in opposition are surrounded by opportunists who don’t want a unified opposition for personal gains. Opposition is busy fighting each other and on top of that we have about 20 aspiring presidential candidates who are failing to unite,” said Kamlepo.

He added that the results of 2019 polls will be divided among 20 presidential candidates and am afraid the one who wins will have the minority vote, whether we like it or not.

According to Kamlepo, the opposition will want to unite after the elections, probably after losing as we will be going to the courts.

“These are facts whether you agree or not. Instead of commenting negatives here go and tell your leaders to unite. You have the power to petition your respective opposition political party leaders, Go and vent that anger to convince them to unite! Translate that anger into a single Opposition vote, only then will We Win,” he said.

He added that those who are old enough should share history of Mgwirizano coalition with those who were not there.

” We can and will only have one President after 21 May but unfortunately everyone in Opposition believes awina Kale! Banz or no Banz these are FACTS,” he concluded.
