Malawi’s leading advertising and PR firm FD Communications Ltd has joined the growing band of well-wishers of the Friends of Limbani Moya cause by sponsoring two teams for his charity golf scheduled for Friday at Blantyre Sports Club.
The company donated K140,000 towards the golf tournament, expected to be graced by Vice President and golf enthusiast Saulos Chilima.
FD Communications Administration Officer Beatrice Fumba said when she presented the cheque to the Friends of Limbani Moya Committee that the agency wishes him quick recovery and gradual return to normal duties.
“We are a Full Dimension media company that has welfare of the professionals we work with at heart. We consider Limbani as one of us and a part of our
growing family, and we thought of making this humble contribution towards his health,” she said.
Fumba urged other media companies to consider playing their part in the Friends of Limbani Moya initiative. “Mutu umodzi susenza denga, let’s all join hands to assist however we can. A single bead does not jingle,” she said.
For his part, Friends of Limbani Task Force member George Kasakula said; “We only have one word to FD Communications; it’s gratitude. We’re very grateful
that after listening to our plea, FD has come forward. We wish others could emulate their example because we still need more money.”
Kasakula said so far, the Friends of Limbani Moya initiative have raised about K4 million, which leaves a deficit of K6 million from the initial
proposed budget of K10 million the family needs for a kidney transplant in India.
