LILONGWE (Maravi Post)—Fire on Tuesday razed Lilongwe bus depot shops with millions of Kwacha of the materials affected. According to our reporter on the ground, the affected shops are those surrounding Kachikungu minibus depot. It is suspected that the fire started in a certain shop belonging to a Burundian national.
“As I am talking, about ten shops have completely burnt into ashes and nothing has been saved from these shops,” said our reporter.
“Millions of Kwacha of the materials has been destroyed. It suspected that the fire started because of some electricity materials such cooker which was left on in a Burundian shop,” he added.
The fire fighters arrived at the scene a little bit late but they tried their best to put off the fire.
Meanwhile, the Council officials are yet to comment on the matter.
