MCHINJI-(MaraviPost)-Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 expressed concern over the high number of road blocks along the trading routes between Zambia and Malawi.
Hichilema has sounded the concern during the commissioning ceremony of the Mchinji/Mwami one stop border post.
While acknowledging the need for security, the Zambian leader has pointed out that the multiple roadblocks are hurdles to efficient transportation of cargo.
He has since called on the homeland security ministers of the two countries to meet and strategize on how to enhance security while keeping the number of security roadblocks at a minimum.
One of social media commentators lauded Zambian President for being apolitical on the project.
“The most transparent President, Giving Details of the Project that it wasn’t one Man Project as detailed by Malawi’s Government trying to score on a project not manned by them.
Zambian President have mentioned that it was a Loan,, financing three Countries,, but that has never been mentioned in Malawi”, he said.
He added, “Project Financed by EU, ADB, and COMESA has never been attributed in in Nyasaland rather it’s CHAKWERA DELIVERS. We must be ashamed once to be more transparent and Say the Truth.
“Let’s not politicise any development, and it’s waste of Money to Conduct a DEVELOPMENT PARTY RALLY on the same wasting Already depleted resource. People will trust you for being you not Pretending being you. LEARN TO SAY THE TRUTH AND CREDIT THOSE WORTH IT”.
