LUSAKA-(MaraviPost)-President Hakainde Hichilema government has temporarily suspended Excise Duty and set VAT to zero on petrol and diesel for three months, from April to June 2026.
The decision comes as global fuel prices surge due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
The Zamba government says the move will ease pressure on consumers and businesses.
Petrol now costs about US$1.42 per litre, while diesel is around US$1.56.
This short-term relief is expected to help keep pump prices more stable in the coming months.
