Kenyan man found hanging inside police cell

NAKURU-(MaraviPost)-Kenyan police discovered lifeless body of a 27-year-old man on Wednesday inside Temuyota Police cell in Kuresoi North, Nakuru County.

Kenya’s Kuresoi North Sub-County Police Commander James Ademba, confirmed the news in a statement.

According to Ademba, the deceased had been arraigned on Tuesday at the Molo Law Court for allegedly threatening to kill his parents who live at Mawingu village in Kuresoi North.

Death in cell

Digital Citizen report indicated that the deceased, Hilary Lang’at, was waiting to be transferred to Nakuru prison tomorrow following a court order before his body was discovered lifeless in the cell.

Other reports suggested that the lifeless body of the deceased was found hanging in the police cells.

The body was moved to Molo Sub-county Hospital Mortuary pending further investigations.

In 2021, a businessman in the same area was discovered dead in a police cell just three days after he was arrested for not wearing face masks.
