Paramount Chief Kyungu of Karonga has asked the
Services (MPS) to immediately start recruiting people with albinism into its system in order to deal with albino killers and abductors.
This follows the alarming number of albino killings and abductors.
According to Kyungu lack of people with albinism in the security departments hinders the process of dealing with the malpractice.
“While appreciating what the law enforcers are doing to end the killing and abduction of albinos, I think engaging their representatives (albinos) in the security system will speed up the process,” said Kyungu.
On their roles as traditional leaders, Kyungu appealed to his fellows to start registering the albinos as well knowing their homes.
He also asked journalists and law enforcers in the country to go deep with their investigations on the matter in order to know people behind the malpractice saying.
However, the Deputy Inspector General responsible for operations in the MPS Rodney Joze failed to comment on the matter but assured Malawians that the police will end the malpractice soon.
He also asked people living in the border areas such as Karonga to report suspects to the police claiming they believe that the killers takes the albino bones to the neighboring countries such as Tanzania.
Meanwhile, the Mzuzu high court has also grant an order of restraining witch doctors to carry up their services in the country and their advertisement in the media houses.
