DEDZA-(MaraviPost)-LUANAR Mitundu FC have held FCB Nyasa Big Bullets to a goalless draw with both sides settling for a point in Sunday’s FDH Bank Premiership encounter at Dedza Stadium.

The result has given LUANAR a valuable point as coach Oscar Kaunda’s side continues its push for a stronger finish to the first round of the competition.

Speaking to MaraviPost Sports Desk after the match, Kaunda said the result reflected the efforts of both teams after they produced a competitive contest without finding the back of the net.

Kaunda praised his players for their determination, saying he was satisfied with the way they battled against one of the league’s established sides.

The coach believes the point will give his players confidence as they prepare for their final first-round fixture against Goshen City Dedza Dynamos FC.

LUANAR Mitundu FC now have 19 points from 14 matches and occupy seventh position on the FDH Bank Premiership table.

While LUANAR celebrated a hard-earned point, Bullets were left to rue missed opportunities after failing to break down their opponents.

Bullets coach Wedson Nyirenda admitted that chances were limited for both teams, but said his players should have done better with the opportunities they managed to create.

The draw means Bullets remain fourth on the table with 27 points, increasing the pressure on the giants to collect maximum points from their final first-round match.

Nyirenda is already looking beyond the result, with the forthcoming transfer window providing an opportunity to strengthen his squad.

He said the technical team will sit down to identify areas that need reinforcement before making decisions on possible additions to the squad.
