BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-Malawi’s music acts Joe Gwaladi and Kasambwe Brothers’ Band, Poet Sylvester Kalizang’oma and Chichiri Prison Cultural Troope are to headline the promotion of SDGs end of October.
Besides Chichiri Prison Cultural Troope has also been roped in to grace the event this year.
In an interview with Maravi Post one of the event organisers Jose Chingaipe said the SGD promotion event is to be held at a intercultural week slated for 24 – 25 October, 2020 at Blue Elephant in Blantyre.
According to Chingaipe marketing and communications director for the Intercultural week, said the event is also by way of advocating for the role of SDGs on tourism.
He said Malawi has diverse cultural values from diverse ethnic backgrounds from which the country can benefit.
“No culture is superior and that is what has made Malawi a peaceful country,” he said.
According to Chingaipe they are using arts to promte SDG’s and they are planing to take the event to Lilongwe and Mzuzu next month.
Musician Joe Gwaladi will be the top billing at the celebration because of his crazy touch.
“We opted for someone with local music and someone who people haven’t seen performing at Blues before,” said Chingaipe.
According to him the event will also be graced with Deejays playing local music for the audience and a fashion show.
The Communication director said all COVID-19 preventative measures will be followed.
