MWANZA-(MaraviPost). The Malawi Police in the southern and boarder district of Mwanza has intercepted six Congolese nationals for illegal entry into the country.
Mwanza Police Station Spokesperson Edwin Kaunda on Tuesday confirmed the arrest of the six at Cindirella lodge within Mwanza town where they were getting their refuge.
The Mwanza Police Publicist said that they got a tip from one of the guests at the lodge.
“During interviews at the Police station, Congolese said that that they were coming from Dzaleka refugee camp and travelling to another refugee camp in Zimbabwe.
“All these Congolese nationals had no travelling documents which would enable them to travel to Zimbabwe. The six Congolese have since been handed over to Immigration officials for further action.
“We are urging the general public to report to the nearest police station when they notice some strangers in their location who might also escalate crimes in the country,” urges Kaunda.
