LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Malawi President Lazarus Chakwera’s first son Nick on Saturday, November 7, 2020 disputed media reports that was driving at high speed in Blantyre Central Business District (CBD) and crashed into Justice of Appeal Frank Kapanda’s vehicle before his vehicle overturned on Friday night.

The accident took place near Development House and Ecobank junction on Victoria Avenue road in Blantyre.

The media report went further alleging that there was drama soon after the accident as some people whisked Nick away after realizing that he was in the wrong and he had hit the vehicle of a Supreme Court of Appeal Justice.

However, The Maravi Post verified that it was not Nick but rather President Chakwera’s son-in-law William Chimombo who was involved in the accident.

The Maravi Post understands that its mistaken identity in the story for Chakwera’s son.

In brief statement on Nick Chakwera Facebook page, disputes the media reports of being not traveled to Blantyre recently.

“Family and Friends, This is to let you know that I haven’t been involved in any accident. I wasn’t in Blantyre last night. I am home. Regard any news flying around about me being involved in an accident as untrue.

“Moral of the story! Please verify before publishing especially those that call themselves news sources. And verify before copying and pasting a story,” busted Nick.
