Woman brutally murdered in Blantyre

BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)—Residents of Mazdiabango had a rude awakening on Sunday evening after learning the death of an old woman who was gruesomely murdered by unknown thugs using a panga knife in her house.

Police in the district have confirmed the incident, identifying the deceased as Mrs. Chisomba from Kantimbanya village in Traditional Authority (T/A) Somba, Blantyre.

“The elderly woman was found lying in a pool of blood with assault wounds to the head in her home”, said a devastated eye witness who described the news as ‘sickening’ in an emotional mood.

The incident happened in full view of the woman’s daughter and grand child who also sustained injuries and are currently receiving treatment at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital.

Meanwhile, no any arrest has been made in connection to the evil attack.

The incident has happened just after two years when unknown thugs also attacked a man while he was asleep in his house during the dawn of January 20, 2018 where his head and both arms were chopped off at Kumwambe Village in the same area of Traditional Authority Nsomba.
