NSANJE-(MaraviPost)-Traditional leaders in Shire Valley district of Nsanje have on Saturday, June 13, 2020 officially crowned the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Vice President Muhammed Sidik Mia as “Mbuya”, the grand guardian and the supreme political Lord of the entire region.

In a spectacular ceremony, on behalf of fellow chiefs, Senior Group Village Headman Mtemangawa of Sub- Traditional Authority Malemia presented a symbolic stick of authority to Mia hence advised him to continue spearheading the developmental agenda in the valley.

The chiefs also presented Mia with a traditional maize flour carrier (dengu) as a symbol of his guardianship.

Traditional leader Mtemangawa also indicated that the decoration of Mia comes after the first Mbuya of the valley, Gwanda Chakuamba.
