BLANTYRE-(MraviPost)-Malawi Bureau of Standards (MBS) on Saturday, March 19, 2022 donated relief items worth MK7,700, 000 to more than 300 families that were affected by Moderate Tropical Ana at Liwembe evacuation centre and Chingali Village, Traditional Authority (T.A) Chimwala in Mangochi district.

Speaking during the handing over of the relief items, one of the Bureau’s board members Allie Mwachande said the institution felt the need to extend a hand to people affected by the tropical storm despite the donations being too little to reach victims.

“We know that there are still more looking for the donations. As such, we urge other stakeholders and NGOs to emulate what we have done here and donate to the rest. We need to have a giving hand most especially during these hard times,” said Mwachande.

Among other relief items MBS donated including bags of maize flour, buckets, salt, cooking oil, sugar, rice and other several basic needs.
