Mulli has urged politicians to desist from making political statements that can incite tension and violence following an incident at his farm where one of his guards shot a suspected thief.
Leston Mulli told a radio station in Malawi that such irresponsible statements can negatively impact on businesses.
“We must desist from making unnecessary political comments. Intolerance emanating from political speeches may lead to violence as the situation leading to the May 20 polls is already tense,” said Mulli.
Meantime Mulli also moved swiftly to seek court injunction stopping the police from seizing his licensed guns.
Mulli might have been directing these comments at President Joyce Banda who has attributed the shooting to political shenanigans motivated to refuting the outcome of the elections if a certain unnamed party were to lose the coming elections
