Nigeria’s Benue State angry mob

BENUE STATE-(MaraviPost)-Angry mob in Konsisha Local Government Area of Benue State, Nigeria has set ablaze Nator Ioryue, leader of a gang who attacked a businessman on Tuesday night together with his team members in attempt to rob him.

Benue State Command spokesperson, DSP Catherine Anene, has confirmed the incident in an interview with Punch news.

The suspected robber was ablaze after angry youths from the community stormed the police station in the early hours of Wednesday and forcefully brought out suspected robber, attacked him before setting him ablaze.

DSP Catherine Anene has been quoted saying: “Actually, it was a police post that we have in the area and at the time policemen were trying to transfer the suspect to the command headquarters, the youths forcefully brought out the suspect. What they were saying is that even if the suspect is taking to court he would find his way back and continue to terrorise the community”.

Meanwhile, police are in search of those behind the mob so they can be brought to justice.
