In the wake of the tragic plane crash that claimed the life of Vice President Dr. Saulos Klaus Chilima and several others, President Lazarus Chakwera has sought solace in his faith. Speaking at Mzuzu State Lodge today, Chakwera reflected on the devastating loss, emphasizing his belief that Jesus Christ holds all knowledge regarding the circumstances surrounding the accident.

Chakwera described Chilima as a visionary leader whose death has left a profound void in the nation. The President’s remarks came during a meeting with senior traditional leaders from the northern region, who had gathered to offer their condolences and support in this difficult time.

Paramount Chief Kyungu also addressed the gathering, condemning the inflammatory remarks that have emerged in the wake of the crash. He highlighted that such comments are at odds with the moral values of society, calling for a respectful and unified response to the tragedy rather than divisive or disrespectful discourse.

The President’s reliance on faith and the Chief’s call for dignity underscore the gravity of the loss and the need for solidarity as the nation mourns the passing of its Vice President.
