Road to DPP convention: Steven Maseya resigns as deputy Administrative Secretary

BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-Dust is refusing to die in the opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) as deputy Administrative Secretary Steven Maseya has resigned with immediate effect.

Maseya’s resignation comes barely days before DPP holds much much-awaited elective convention on August 18, 2024, in Blantyre.

In a brief resignation letter addressed to his boss Francis Mphepo, DPP Administrative Secretary, Maseya says, “I would like to kindly inform your office of my resignation from the position effective Monday, 12th August 2024 for personal reasons.

“However, let me take this opportunity to thank His Excellency Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika for entrusting me with such a noble responsibility to serve in that capacity from the day I was appointed, Monday, 3rd July 2023”.

Maseya adds, “Nevertheless, I have handed over all 2024 DPP Convention information including Secretariat files to you (e.g. all Delegates) as shared and agreed on WhatsApp on Friday, 9th August 2024. In case you need any assistance regarding the office, please don’t hesitate to contact me on WhatsApp on my Airtel number provided below”.

Maseya’s resignation letter has also been copied to DPP leader Peter Mutharika.

DPP leadership is yet to comment on the matter.
