A candlelight memorial service was held in Salima on Saturday, July 13, 2024, to honor the legacy of Vice President Saulos Klaus Chilima. The event, marked by its emotional resonance, brought together a diverse group of attendees who gathered to pay tribute to Chilima’s enduring impact on Malawian society.
The ceremony featured poignant reflections on Chilima’s contributions and achievements, celebrating his dedication to public service and commitment to national progress. Attendees lit candles and shared moments of silence to remember and honor the Vice President’s influential legacy.
Throughout the service, attendees were inspired by the words “Osaopa. Osatopa. Osafooka,” which translate to “Don’t be scared. Don’t get tired. Don’t get exhausted.” These sentiments encapsulated Chilima’s spirit and his call for perseverance and resilience.
