The passing of Vice President Saulos Klaus Chilima was a devastating blow to the nation, and particularly to the UTM party, which he led.

In the aftermath of his death, the party has been holding candlelight vigils to honor his memory and pay tribute to his leadership.

While these gestures are understandable and a testament to the impact he had on his followers, it is essential to consider the need to move forward and rebuild the party.

The candlelight vigils, although well-intentioned, may be inadvertently perpetuating a sense of mourning and grief that could hinder the party’s progress.

It is crucial to strike a balance between honoring the past and embracing the future.

The UTM party must find a way to celebrate Chilima’s legacy while also focusing on the tasks ahead.

Rebuilding the party requires a concerted effort from its members, and excessive focus on mourning may distract from this goal.

The party needs to channel its energy into revitalizing its structures, re-strategizing, and re-igniting its passion for service to the nation.

This can only be achieved by acknowledging the reality of Chilima’s passing and accepting the need to move forward.

Furthermore, the family members of the late Vice President Chilima need space to grieve and heal.

Constant reminders of their loss through candlelight vigils may prolong their suffering and make it challenging for them to find closure.

It is essential to allow them the opportunity to come to terms with their loss and move forward with their lives.

It is also important to consider the psychological impact of prolonged mourning on the party members and the nation at large.

Excessive focus on grief can lead to emotional exhaustion, making it challenging for individuals to cope with the demands of everyday life.

By moving forward, the party can help its members and the nation to heal and find a sense of purpose.

While the candlelight vigils have served as a fitting tribute to the late Vice President Chilima, it is now time for the UTM party to shift its focus towards rebuilding and moving forward.

This does not mean forgetting Chilima’s legacy but rather celebrating it by continuing his work and striving towards a brighter future.

The party must find a way to balance mourning with progress, ensuring that it emerges stronger and more united than ever before.

The nation is watching, and it is time for UTM to demonstrate its resilience and ability to adapt to change.

By doing so, the party can ensure that Chilima’s memory continues to inspire and motivate its members, rather than holding them back.

Let us allow the soul of the late Vice President Saulos Klaus Chilima to rest peacefully, and let us work towards a brighter future for all.
