Eric Trump Gushes Over ‘Friend’ Rory McIlroy’s Support Towards Family

Eric Trump called Rory McIlroy his “friend” and expressed his gratitude for the golfer’s support of the Trump family.

“Rory’s become a friend. And frankly, I’d say without Rory’s support, I’m not even sure if we’d have it here,” Eric, 42, said of McIlroy, 36, backing the decision for the Irish Open to take place at President Donald Trump’s golf course in Doonbeg, County Clare, Ireland, in an interview with The Belfast Telegraph published on Sunday, January 25.

Eric added that he promised McIlroy that Doonbeg would host “the best Irish Open that Ireland has ever seen.” Eric shared that his father, 79, plans on attending the three-day event, scheduled to take place from September 10 to 13.

“I think he’s gonna be here,” Eric said of the president. “He really wants to be here — and I know Rory definitely wants him here.”

Eric also shared that McIlroy has formed a close bond with him and the whole Trump family.

“Rory has been super supportive of the family,” Eric told the outlet. “I was just with him two weeks ago. He played at Trump Jupiter.”

Earlier this month, Kai Trump — the daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and Vanessa Trump — spent some time on the golf course with McIlroy. (Kai, 18, is currently an amateur golfer who has committed to play for the University of Miami’s women’s golf team this year.)

“Best way to start the year,” Kai captioned a snap of her and the pro golf champion via Instagram.

Last year, McIlroy played a round of golf with the president, an avid golfer and fan of the sport. Following the outing, McIlroy spoke to the media regarding what he believes to be the Commander-in-Chief’s stance on the PGA over the growing popularity of LIV golf.

“I was like, but you’ve hosted their events,” McIlroy said of Trump’s opinion of LIV golf in February 2025. “He was like, ‘Yeah, but it doesn’t mean that I like it.’ So I think he’s on the tour’s side.”

Months later, the golfers of Team Europe — which included McIlroy, Justin Rose, Tommy Fleetwood and Jon Rahm — had a message for Donald after beating Team USA at the 2025 Ryder Cup.

“Are you watching? Are you watching? Are you watching? Are you watching, Donald Trump? Are you watching Donald Trump?” the group sang in while taking in their victory with the trophy during the September 2025 event.

Donald, who attended a portion of the Ryder Cup at Farmingdale, New York’s, Bethpage Black Golf Course, responded via social media.

“Yes, I’m watching. Congratulations!” he wrote via his Truth Social app.

The golfers’ decision to shout out Donald came after McIlroy got a message from the president, according to the team’s captain, Luke Donald.

“We were having a moment together with the team, and Rory got a text from the president,” the Team Europe captain told the BBC. “We read it out and thought [we’d have] a little bit of banter [with him]. He seemed to take it in good spirits.”

President Donald Trump is taking aim at yet another late night host after previously attacking Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert.

“Seth Meyers of NBC may be the least talented person to ‘perform’ live in the history of television,” the president wrote via his social media platform Truth Social on Saturday, November 1. “In fact, he may be the WORST to perform, live or otherwise. I watched his show the other night for the first time in years. In it he talked needlessly about electric catapults on aircraft carriers which I complain about as not being as good as much less expensive steam catapults.”

He continued, “On and on he went, a truly deranged lunatic. Why does NBC waste its time and money on a guy like this??? – NO TALENT, NO RATINGS, 100% ANTI TRUMP, WHICH IS PROBABLY ILLEGAL!!!”

Meyers has yet to publicly respond to President Trump’s online rant, though it is one of many social media posts from the Commander-in-chief targeting the hosts of various late night programs.

After ABC briefly took Jimmy Kimmel Live! off the air following host Kimmel’s remarks over the untimely death of right-wing influencer Charlie Kirk, the president openly celebrated the move — one that appeared politically motivated after the Trump administration’s chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), Brendan Carr, threatened ABC, Disney and Kimmel.

“Great News for America: The ratings challenged Jimmy Kimmel Show is CANCELLED,” Trump wrote on September 17. “Congratulations to ABC for finally having the courage to do what had to be done.”

The president then set his sights on the remaining late night hosts, Meyers and Jimmy Fallon.

“Kimmel has ZERO talent, and worse ratings than even Colbert, if that’s possible,” Trump continued in the same post. “That leaves Jimmy and Seth, two total losers, on Fake News NBC. Their ratings are also horrible. Do it NBC!!! President DJT.”

One hour prior to the show’s return on September 23, President Trump again took to Truth Social to threaten ABC for bringing back Kimmel’s program.

“I can’t believe ABC Fake News gave Jimmy Kimmel his job back,” Trump wrote at the time. “The White House was told by ABC that his show was canceled! Something happened between then and now because his audience is GONE and his ‘talent’ was never there. Why would they want someone back who does so poorly, who’s not funny, and who puts the Network in jeopardy by playing 99% positive Democrat GARBAGE.”

He continued, “He is yet another arm of the DNC and, to the best of my knowledge, that would be a major Illegal Campaign Contribution. I think we’re going to test ABC out on this. Let’s see how we do. Last time I went after them, they gave me $16 Million Dollars. This one sounds even more lucrative. A true bunch of losers! Let Jimmy Kimmel rot in his bad Ratings.”

Kimmel tripled his regular viewership during his late night return following his dubious suspension. A reported 6.26 million viewers tuned in to watch him retake the stage on September 24, according to an ABC press release. The host performed higher than normal in the 18 to 49 demographic, earning the episode its “highest regularly scheduled episode in over 10 years.”

I am writing to you today with great urgency and hope regarding the precarious situation in Israel.

Israel has faced more than its fair share of challenges and conflicts over the years, but the Israel-Hamas war is a much more dangerous conflict that has alarmed nations around the world. In these perilous times, it is crucial to explore innovative strategies that go beyond conventional military strategies and tactics.

The Transcendental Meditation® (TM®) technique and its advanced TM-Sidhi® program can be utilized by your armed forces to relieve collective societal stress, proactively end the present conflict, and prevent further hostilities with neighboring nations. A Prevention Wing within your military could be trained to use the evidence-based TM technique to stem aggression.

The TM program is a well-established, non-religious technique that has been scientifically shown to reduce individual stress through deep physiological rest that enhances mental clarity and focus. In addition, when it is practiced collectively, it has demonstrated a profound positive impact on war, conflict, violence, crime, and other forms of societal turbulence. Such social problems arise from unresolved collective societal stress.

When the size of the TM group meets a specific threshold (the square root of 1% of the target population), there is a measurable decrease in the incidence of negative outcomes. For Israel’s population of under 10 million, a group of about 320 experienced TM meditators would then have the potential to deflect hostile elements; a group of 500 would exert an even more powerful ability to achieve positive results in the entire Middle East region.

The extensive research on the societal impact of the advanced TM program utilizes robust statistical methods and objective data sources, including government statistics and databases by independent researchers. Rigorous controls for various alternative factors have been applied. These findings have been consistently replicated across diverse populations and published in reputable journals such as the Journal of Conflict Resolution, Journal of Social Behavior and Personality, Social Indicators Research, Medicina and World Journal of Social Science. The results reveal statistically significant reductions in war-related fatalities, improved economic conditions, heightened quality of life, and decreased levels of crime, violence, accidents, drug-overdose deaths and illness.

For example, a study published in the Journal of Offender Rehabilitation (based on global data from the Rand Corporation) showed that when the size of large TM groups exceeded the threshold predicted to give rise to a measurable effect, annual deaths due to worldwide terrorism decreased 72%, international conflict decreased 32%, and violence was reduced in other nations without intrusion by other governments.

As Chief of the General Staff for Israel Defense Forces (IDF), please consider establishing a Prevention Wing that incorporates the Transcendental Meditation and TM-Sidhi programs into its daily routine.

By applying proven techniques that reduce cumulative societal stress, we can work towards ending current conflicts, preventing future conflicts, and building a more stable future for Israel and its neighbors. The evidence-based approach that the TM program offers, once implemented in Israel, could serve as a valuable model for peace-building programs in other volatile locations worldwide. Action taken now by the IDF could ultimately lead to lasting world peace.

I am ready to provide additional research and support to help implement this initiative. A proactive approach like this can contribute significantly to the peace and security of Israel and the entire Middle East.
