LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The shamelessly Office of the President and Cabinet (OPC)’s handpicked a company owned by the President Chakwera’s buddy Martin Mainja to fumigate Kamuzu Palace and Capital Hill at a cost of MK97 million has challenged his arrest over the Covid-19 funds abuses.

This follows police on Sunday, April 18, 2021 arrested Assemblies of God Pastor Mainja over his four companies were used to siphon hundreds of millions of Covid-19 funds by faking a job of disinfecting State House.

Malawi police arrested Mainja soon after church in Lumbazi today.

But police officers who arrested Mainja disclosed to this publication that Mainja demanded that if police are arresting him, they must also arrest Nick Chakwera and State House Chief of Staff Prince Kapondamgaga who conspired in the fraud.

Mainja also said Minister of Health Khumbidze Kandodo needs to be arrested because she was part of the deal.

State House paid Mainja millions of Covid-19 funds money on ballooned invoices which he cashed, got his cut and handed over cash back to Nick Chakwera and Kapondamgaga.

Chakwera is a known business associates of Mainja who has suddenly ditched his Superette at Area 18 become a main contractor of government in the last six months.

The money went round to President Chakwera which he used to fund Malawi Congress Party (MCP) campaign in Karonga and other recent By-elections.

There was no immediate reaction from Khumbize, Kapondamgaga and Nick Chakwera on the allegation.

Malawians want to see if President Chakwera is going to arrest thieves in his own house.

Chakwera has meanwhile fired Labour Minister Ken Kandodo for Covid-19 funds abuses despite paying back the money worthy MK1.4 million he used for Chakwera’s South Africa trip in November 2020.

Malawi President Chakwera’s friend Martin Mainja caged in MK6.2bn Covid-19 funds abuse; Plundered MK97m

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Exposed! Malawi President Lazarus Chakwera has been trapped in MK6.2 billion Covid-19 funds.

Shamelessly Office of the President and Cabinet (OPC) handpicked a company owned by the President Chakwera’s buddy to fumigate Kamuzu Palace and Capital Hill at a cost of MK97 million.

The offer happened yet Lilongwe District Health Office would have done the same work for about MK6 million.

Whistleblower, Joshua Chisa Mbele alleges that the company Pest Chem B1 is owned by Martin Mainja who is Chakwera’s buddy and whom the president appointed as Board Member of ADL.

According to the National Audit Office (NAO) investigative report on the MK6.2 billion Covid-19 funds, Pest Chem 1B was handpicked to fumigate 26 buildings at Capital Hill, Kamuzu Palace and City Centre in July last year.

This was done even though there was no need to contract a private company considering that Lilongwe District Health Office already has capacity to fumigate the offices.

Environmental Officer at the DHO Penjani Chunda told auditors that his offices would have done the work at a lower cost.

“He informed the audit team that a one visit disinfection which Pest Chem 1B charged 26,620,250 would have costed not more than MK1.5 million.

“It is also worth noting that the materials for disinfection by Pest Chem 1B were provided by Government, a situation that did not justify the use of the private disinfector at that high cost,” reads part of the report.

It was also noted during the audit that Capital Hill was soliciting quotations from the same suppliers for fumigation exercise, Pest Chem 1B, Primon Enterprises and tlm Fumigation Services.

However, Pest Chem won every time the service was procured. In addition, Primon Enterprises denied sending any quotation to the Office of the President.

The audit report was commissioned by Chakwera earlier this year after reports of massive plunder of public funds meant for Covid-19.

It shows that MK80 million was lost through irregular payment of allowances, MK83 million was stolen after being withdrawn from accounts, MK24 million which was unbudgeted for was wastefully and dubiously spent while MK423 million was spent on procurement of items even though necessary procurement procedures were not followed.

This publication will exposed all names entangled in the Covid-19 funds abuses.
