JoJo Siwa Gives Update After ‘Excruciating Pain’ Landed Her in the Hospital

JoJo Siwa has offered an update on her health after being hospitalized in “excruciating pain” for a “burst” ovarian cyst.

“So long story short, every time that I’ve been dancing for the last couple of days or even just walking, like anything, my stomach would just really, really hurt,” Siwa, 22, explained via TikTok on Saturday, November 29. “And I don’t know why, but it just kind of passed, and so I was like, ‘Oh, maybe it’s that time of the month, maybe it’s a cramp, I don’t know.’”

Her latest bout of stomach pain struck at the worst possible time because Siwa was scheduled to perform at the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota, on Friday, November 28.

Siwa’s fans were worried when she revealed via Instagram that she was “in the hospital” shortly before the show was supposed to start.

In her TikTok clip, Siwa recalled trying to take a nap before the Mall of America appearance in hopes of sleeping off the pain — though she soon felt even worse.

“I laid down, I closed my eyes, and I was like, ‘I can’t breathe,’ ” she remembered.

Siwa next tried sitting inside her hotel bathtub to see if it would relax her muscles, only for the pain to intensify once again.

“That set it off 100 times worse,” Siwa said. “I was in [the bathtub] for maybe four minutes, and all of a sudden I was like, ‘I have to get out immediately.’ because I knew I was gonna black out and I felt like I was gonna throw up.”

Now in severe pain, Siwa let her mom, dance instructor Jessalynn Siwa, know how bad she was feeling and they decided to get her checked out. She recalled that 9-1-1 medics initially “didn’t really know what was wrong” because her vitals were “normal.”

However, doctors at a local hospital eventually discovered that “one of [her] ovaries had a cyst on it that burst and was bleeding into [her] stomach.”

“That’s what was causing the excruciating pain — anytime that the blood in your stomach moves, that’s the bleeding in the stomach,” Siwa told her TikTok followers. “It’s brutal pain. Long story short, [the issue] should revolve itself. It should stop on its own.”

Siwa thanked the medical staff for getting her “out of the hospital within two hours” so she could still perform her new festive single “Message to the World (Little Drummer Girl)” at the Mall of America.

“Today, we’re gonna go to work and we’re gonna dance again. I’m afraid how this dance is gonna affect me because I’m going to be dancing, but it’s only going to be an hour. We’re going to do it,” she explained. “We’re going to keep it pushing, and if I vomit or if I have that excruciating pain burst again, I’ve got to go immediately back in, but we should be OK.”

The Celebrity Big Brother U.K. star assured her fans that she was “doing all right” on Saturday, but was far from feeling “100 percent” yet. Siwa also confirmed that she planned to get the cyst checked again next week.

Her health troubles occurred just over a month after a major relationship milestone for Siwa and her boyfriend, Love Island U.K. star Chris Hughes. They made their red carpet debut at the Dancers Against Cancer’s 2025 Gala of the Stars at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California, on October 21.

Hughes, 32, surprised Siwa at the gala by giving her the Humanitarian Award in recognition of her work on behalf of cancer charities.

“The Humanitarian Award’s incredible,” he exclusively told Us Weekly at the event. “So, to come here tonight, and kind of have a small involvement and able to present her with the award, is very special. It was an easy flight to come over to see JoJo, to see the family and to see everyone here.”

Siwa and Hughes started off as friends while they were both appearing on Celebrity Big Brother U.K. earlier this year. They went public with their romantic relationship in June.

“It’s not platonic anymore, and it’s been a beautiful development, a beautiful connection, and I’m absolutely head over heels for him and he’s the same way,” Siwa told The Guardian in an interview published on June 2.

‘Bachelor’ Alum Shayne Lamas’ Monthly Support From Ex Nik Richie Being Cut

The Bachelor alum Shayne Lamas’ massive monthly support checks from her ex-husband, Nik Richie, are being drastically reduced, Us Weekly can exclusively report.

On October 3, Richie, 46, filed court documents revealing he reached a deal with Lamas, 40, over support.

Per the 2023 divorce settlement, Richie agreed to pay Lamas $12,500 a month in support. The breakdown was $7,500 per month in spousal support and another $5,000 in child support. (The exes wed on April 18, 2010, and split on April 20, 2021, after 11 years of marriage.

Richie and Lamas agreed to share joint legal and physical custody of their two children: Press, 13, and Lyon, 10.

In the new filing, Richie said he will now pay Lamas $4,200 per month in spousal support but his final payment will be on June 5, 2026.

Richie, represented by Richard Sullivan from the firm Sullivan Law and Associates, will continue to pay Lamas the $5,000 per month, $2,500 per kid, in child support until they reach 18.

A source close to Shayne told Us that Nik owed a low six-figure sum in back support, and she agreed to wipe it clean, and reduce his monthly support obligations, to help out her children’s father.

In response, Nik told Us, “I hired Richard Sullivan to modify my agreement because I was tired of Shayne Lamas living off me. I have given her millions and I was still on the hook for another five million over her lifetime. Now, I’m excited for her to get a job. And extremely happy with the result, it’s good business.”

Lamas filed for divorce on June 9, 2021, in Orange County Superior Court. Both parties agreed that “irreconcilable differences” have led to the marriage being unsaveable.

In a 2021 income and expense declaration, Lamas said she was not employed and had worked as a stay-at-home mom for the past 10 years. She said she believed Richie earned a six-figure per month salary.

Lamas listed that she had $5,616 in cash and bank accounts. She said her monthly expenses totaled $28,000. Her monthly bills included $4,800 on rent, $900 on healthcare costs, $2,000 on groceries, $1,300 on eating out, $500 on utilities, $150 for a cell phone, $500 on laundry and cleaning, $3,000 on clothes, $3,500 on entertainment, $1,500 on auto expenses, $500 on savings and investments and $8,940 on other payments. The other payments included five credit card bills and a car loan.

She said she sold a Rolex to pay her legal fees in the divorce. Shayne described enjoying a luxurious lifestyle while married to Richie.

Richie disputed the numbers presented by Lamas in court. He also scoffed at the claim she sold her Rolex to pay legal bills.

“Unless Shayne has another Rolex that I do not know about, I saw her with the Rolex watch just this last time that we had our children’s exchange point. I do not know what Rolex watch she sold in order to pay her attorney’s fees.”

The exes ended up reaching their settlement in 2023.

Everything the ‘Vanderpump Rules’ Cast Has Shared About Their Salaries

Lamas, whose father is actor Lorenzo Lamas, became a household name herself after appearing on season 12 of The Bachelor.

The season, which aired in 2008, featured a British man named Matt Grant as the star. Grant proposed to a then 22-year-old Lamas but the relationship ended months later.

For his part, OK Magazine reported Richie proposed to his girlfriend and lifestyle creator, Whitney Duden, on October 21 while on a vacation in Santorini.

DWTS’ Jan Ravnik Claps Back at ‘Haters’ After Maks Chmerkovskiy Drama

Dancing With the StarsJan Ravnik is clapping back at the scrutiny he’s received in his first season as a pro dancer.

“I mean, look, everyone has [an] opinion. Everyone has a right to have [an] opinion. Haters [are] going to hate and whoever loves us, loves us,” Ravnik, 30, exclusively told Us Weekly on Tuesday, October 28, after he and celebrity partner Jen Affleck were eliminated during DWTS’ season 34 Halloween Night.

“What am I going to do? You can’t change their mind. Everyone can have [an] opinion — either I respect [it] or don’t respect [it],” he continued.

Ravnik emphatically concluded, “Yeah, let them talk. If they want to stay relevant in that way, yeah, let them hate.”

Who Is Jan Ravnik? Meet Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras Tour’ Dancer Ahead of ‘DWTS’

Going into Tuesday’s Halloween Night episode, Ravnik — who performed with Taylor Swift on her Eras Tour — faced criticism over his ballroom credentials, including from former DWTS pro Maks Chmerkovskiy.

Dancing With the Stars is a worldwide phenomenon. … I’m sorry, Jan has absolutely no business being a pro on Dancing With the Stars,” Chmerkovskiy said on the Friday, October 24, episode of his wife Peta Murgatroyd’s “The Penthouse With Peta” podcast. “There’s zero foundation technique, quality, understanding of the partnership. Bro, I’m getting emotional. It is absurd, and this is unreal how blind we have to be and God forbid say what’s obviously there.”

Chmerkovskiy, 45, took aim at Ravnik and Affleck’s foxtrot during the October 21 Wicked Night episode, claiming the professional dancer had “no idea” what the dance style entailed.

“How are you going to expect him to teach it and deliver that message in a format that is completely different from even ballroom dancing? We had this criticism weeks ago, and I’m like, ‘Bro, is anybody going to explain it to him?’” Chmerkovskiy said.

Chmerkovskiy said Ravnik’s casting was a “missed opportunity” for Affleck, adding, “[It’s a] major disadvantage. [Jen] has no partner. … It’s not his fault.”

Chmerkovskiy’s wife, fellow DWTS alum Murgatroyd, 39, said that “hiring a non-ballroom dancer to teach ballroom dancing to a celebrity as a job” was “outrageous.” However, she said Ravnik was a “lovely guy” and “great dancer.”

Ravnik and Affleck, 26, went home on Tuesday night after performing a contemporary dance to Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do.”

“Honestly, I think we were both shocked, but I think that’s everyone when they go home,” the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star exclusively told Us. “I think everyone expects to make it to the end and seven weeks is a long time, and I’m grateful that I got to this point. I’m grateful that we got to Halloween and we were able to end off on an amazing note.”

Biggest ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Controversies Through the Years

“We were able to end off to [a song by] thee Taylor Swift and, yeah, there’s just so many things to be grateful for,” Affleck added.

During Tuesday’s broadcast, DWTS judge Derek Hough appeared to allude to the criticism Ravnik has faced in his inaugural season.

“Jan, first of all,” Hough praised Ravnik as he delivered his feedback after their contemporary routine. “I want to tell you, my man, that you are doing a fantastic first season.”

Dancing With the Stars airs on ABC and Disney+ Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET.

Taylor Frankie Paul ‘Would Not Be Shocked’ If Ex Crashed ‘Bachelorette’ Set

New Bachelorette Taylor Frankie Paul is weighing in on the possibility of her ex, Dakota Mortensen, showing up on the hit reality dating show.

“[If] he’s here, he wants to try, like, that wouldn’t shock me,” The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star, 31, told Entertainment Tonight in a clip shared by host Zachary Reality via X on Monday, October 21. “And also like, kind of the same thing with bad news from him. Shocker, you did it again, like it’s just like, for me, I wouldn’t be shocked.”

Taylor dated Dakota, 32, after she and ex-husband Tate Paul divorced following the infamous MomTok swinging scandal. The controversy involved Taylor hooking up with various couples within their ultra close Mormon community, including Miranda McWhorter and her then-husband, Chase McWhorter.

Taylor and Dakota first started dating in 2022, going on to welcome their son Ever before their September 2024 split. (Taylor also shares daughter Indy and son Ocean with her ex-husband.)

Taylor Frankie Paul Reveals If Her ‘Bachelorette’ Men Will Be Mormon

While speaking to Us Weekly in September shortly after she was announced as this year’s Bachelorette, Taylor admitted she had not yet told Dakota that she would appear on the hit dating show.

“I have not confirmed it with him. It’s just not something that’s been on, like, my priority list to confirm with him,” Taylor exclusively told Us at the time. “I don’t know exactly how he’ll react or feel, but he does know that we opened the gates of dating other people. [He’ll] probably [be] sad. I assume that it’s like, ‘Whoa, she’s gonna be dating people, a lot, and then also, in front of me,’ and that’s probably gonna be kind of hard to watch.”

She continued, “I can’t speak for him, but I’d assume it wouldn’t be the best news he’s heard on that day.”

Dakota seemingly reacted to the casting news via his Instagram Stories on September 10. “Had so many curve balls today and every time I am always reminded there is nothing more important than God and family ❤️,” he wrote alongside a selfie. “Life is too short.”

Dakota reiterated that he has nothing but support for Taylor two days later.

“I am happy for Tay, and I hope she finds happiness,” Dakota captioned a September 12 TikTok video, parodying Taylor’s previous upload wishing to be the next Bachelor Nation lead.

Taylor had previously made her own video, detailing how much she wanted to join the show by lip-synching Lindsay Lohan’s Super Bowl commercial about looking for love. Dakota appeared to reference that video in his own upload on the platform.

“Is this how it works to be the next Bachelor?” Dakota asked in his own video, also mouthing along to Lohan’s sound.

Mormon Wives’ Dakota Reacts to Taylor Frankie Paul Revealing Their Last Hookup

“Hi, my name is Lindsay and I’m searching for love,” Lohan, 39, originally said, in a parody of The Bachelor. “I’m recently single, I think, and I’m looking for someone I can spend the rest of my life with — or at least the rest of my probation with. A little about me: I’m an actress, a singer [and] an entrepreneur.”

#Malawi’s COVID-19 Update, October 21, 2021: Seven new cases, zero death

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-In the past 24 hours, Malawi has registered seven new COVID-19 cases, 22 new recoveries and no new deaths. Of the new cases, six are locally transmitted: four from Blantyre, and one each from Mzimba North and Nkhotakota Districts while one case is imported and is from Dowa District.

Cumulatively, Malawi has recorded 61,745 cases including 2,296 deaths (Case Fatality Rate is at 3.72%). Of these cases, 2,663 are imported infections and 59,082 are locally transmitted.

Cumulatively, 57,051 cases have now recovered (recovery rate of 92.4%) and 232 were lost to follow-up. This brings the total number of active cases to 2,166.

In the past 24 hours, there was one new admission (the new admission is not vaccinated) in the treatment units while two cases were discharged.

Currently, a total of five active cases are currently hospitalised: two in Lilongwe, and one each in Mzimba North, Zomba, and Neno Districts.

On testing, in the past 24 hours, 484 COVID-19 tests were conducted. Of these, 190 tests were through SARS-CoV-2 Antigen Rapid Diagnostic test while the rest were through RT-PCR.

The positive cases out of the total number tested (past 24 hours) translates to a positivity rate of 1.4% a weekly positivity rate (seven days moving average) is at 1.2%.

Cumulatively, 421,002 tests have been conducted in the country so far. On COVID-19 vaccination, a total of 1,170,628 vaccine doses has been administered in the country so far.

Cumulatively 642,344 and 272,907 people have received the first dose and second dose of AstraZeneca vaccine respectively while 255377, people have received Johnson and Johnson vaccine.

Over the past 24 hours, 5,652 and 2,926 people have received first dose and second of AstraZeneca vaccine respectively while 1,262 people have received Johnson and Johnson vaccine. Cumulatively, 528,284 people are fully vaccinated.

As we progress with the COVID-19 vaccination, I would like to appreciate all those that have made a good and wise decision to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

The COVID-19 vaccine is an added tool to the COVID-19 fight and it is indeed a safe and effective way of reducing the risk of developing severe disease, hospitalization and deaths when one contracts COVID-19.

Let me inform the public that Government is working tirelessly in ensuring continuous supply of the vaccine in the country. In our vaccination sites we have adequate stocks of the vaccine both the AstraZeneca and Johnson and Johnson (Janssen).

Let me encourage those that are aged 18 years and above to utilize this opportunity and ensure that they have received the COVID-19 vaccine.

For the vaccine to work as expected it is important that we receive the vaccines as recommended i.e. for AstraZeneca vaccine, for full protection, a person is expected to receive two doses given at 12 weeks’ interval while for Johnson and Johnson (Janssen) vaccine, a single dose will ensure full protection.

My special appeal goes to those that had received the first dose of AstraZeneca and 12 weeks have elapsed, that they should get their second dose of the AstraZeneca at the nearest vaccination site. This will ensure that they are
fully protected against COVID-19 thereby reducing the risk of developing severe disease, hospitalization and deaths when they contract COVID-19.

To ensure increased access to the COVID-19 vaccines, government continues to deliver the vaccines through different platforms including the outreach and mobile clinics apart from the static clinics. This initiative will ensure that the vaccines are closer to the people.

Let me commend some local and faith leaders that are encouraging their subjects/congregants to get
vaccinated.

These leaders are organizing the people right in their communities/institutions and thereafter invite the health personnel to come and vaccinate the people. This is the type of leadership that we expect from the traditional and faith leaders.

Let me appeal to other traditional and faith leaders to emulate this good example and ensure that the people they
serve are protected from developing severe COVID-19 disease as well as reducing the risk of hospitalization and deaths due to COVID-19.

The leaders will only be leaders when their subjects are well and healthy. Apart from encouraging people to get vaccinated, the traditional and faith leaders should also take an active role in ensuring that the COVID-19 preventive and containment measures are strictly adhered to in their respective communities. This will help in
reducing the spread of COVID-19 in our communities. Together we can have a COVID-19 free Malawi and it begins with us.

No one is safe until everyone else is safe. Get Fully Vaccinated! Wear Face Mask! Protect yourself. Protect your loved ones. Protect everyone.
