Meghan Markle’s 11th Publicist in 5 Years Leaves After 1 Year in the Job

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s chief publicist, Meredith Maines, is stepping down from her role after one year in the job.

Us Weekly can confirm that Maines will no longer work for the Sussexes in her role as .Chief Communications Officer (CCO), which she began in January. Maines worked in conjunction with US-based PR firm, Method Communications. The Sussexes have cut ties with the consultants after seven months.

“After a year of inspiring work with Prince Harry and Meghan, Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Archewell, I will be pursuing a new opportunity in 2026,” Maines said in a statement to Us. I have the utmost gratitude and respect for the couple and the team, and the good work they are doing in the world.”

A spokesman for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said: “Meredith Maines and Method Communications have concluded their work with Archewell. The Duke and Duchess are grateful for their contributions and wish them well.”

What Meghan Markle’s Friends, Colleagues Said About Her and Public Opinion

Meanwhile, a source praised Maines’ skills, exclusively telling Us on Friday, December 26  that Maines is “best in class.”

“Anyone who has worked with Meredith knows she’s best in class — she’s no nonsense, highly strategic and has done it all. They’ve accomplished a ton over the past year and it’s time for what’s next,” the source said.

In May, Forbes reported that Harry, 41, and Meghan, 44, added Method Communications to their communications team as they continued to grow their careers and community efforts.

“Chief Communications Officer Meredith Maines has retained the global firm Method Communications to bolster her team overseeing the growing business portfolio and philanthropic efforts of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex,” a spokesperson for the royals told the outlet at the time. “Method is an integrated PR and marketing agency specializing in high-growth tech and consumer brands. The Sussex team also recently welcomed Emily Robinson as Director of Communications. Method is serving as an extension of that team.”

Maines’ departure marks what is believed to be the 11th publicist to stop working for the couple in the past five years since Meghan and Harry stepped away from the British Royal Family in 2020.

Her exit comes after the couple’s director of communications, Emily Robinson, left her high-profile role after only a few months on the job in October.

“Ms. Robinson oversaw project-based work for a very successful season of With Love, Meghan and additional support for the production company,” a spokesperson for the Duchess of Sussex told Us Weekly in a statement on October 24. “She did an excellent job and completed these projects with great success.”

Robinson joined Meghan and husband Prince Harry’s team in June after a previous stint doing publicity for Netflix. The Times of London and People reported that Robinson left on her own accord.

Meghan Markle’s Email Signature: More Details About Her Workplace Emerge

In June, there was another staff shakeup when it was reported by multiple outlets that four team members had parted ways with the Sussexes.

Meghan has been accused in the past of being difficult to work for. The Times of London reported in 2021 that the Suits alum had allegedly bullied and reduced staff members to tears at Kensington Palace. In August 2024, NewsNation claimed Meghan and Harry had lost 18 employees between their time in the U.K. and the U.S. (they launched Archewell Foundation in 2020), with a source blaming an “unbearable” and “condescending” Meghan for the “churn and burn” rate.

However, several former and current staff members denied these reports. Speaking to Us in September 2024, former head of content Ben Browning, who secured the couple’s Harry & Meghan documentary Netflix prior to his exit in 2023, described his experience working for the couple as “positive and supportive.”

He added, “We all continue to be friends. The narratives we’ve seen suggesting the contrary are untrue.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Rename Archewell Foundation

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have rebranded their nonprofit organization, the Archewell Foundation, as the charity celebrates its fifth anniversary.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced on Friday, December 19, that the Archewell Foundation will become Archewell Philanthropies.

“Five years ago, The Archewell Foundation was born from a simple but profound belief: to show up and do good,” co-executive directors James Holt and Shauna Nep said in an impact report issued on Friday. “Today, as we mark our fifth anniversary, that mission remains as vital and urgent as ever — now carried forward through Archewell Philanthropies, a growing platform designed to deepen and expand how we serve communities around the world.”

They continued, “What began as a commitment to compassion has evolved into a powerful force for meaningful change, particularly in championing global mental wellness across our communities.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Charitable Work Throughout the Years

Harry, 41, and Meghan, 44, first set up the Archewell Foundation in 2020 after stepping down as working members of the U.K. royal family. Through the nonprofit, the couple aimed to continue the philanthropic work they undertook as working royals.

Over the years, the Archewell Foundation has supported programs and initiatives spanning digital safety, women’s leadership and education. In 2023, the foundation launched the Parents’ Network to support bereaved parents whose children have been affected by online harm, including on social media.

That same year, Archewell also launched The Welcome Project, a community-building initiative initially devised to support refugee women who had resettled from Afghanistan to the U.S. Since its launch, the Welcome Project has expanded to support refugee women from various countries around the world who have resettled in the U.S. and Canada.

Archewell’s name change marks Meghan’s second rebrand in 2025. In February, the former Suits star renamed her personal lifestyle brand from American Orchard Riviera to As Ever.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Business Deals Since Royal Exit

“The cat’s out of the bag,” Meghan said in an Instagram video ahead of the release of her Netflix lifestyle series, With Love, Meghan. “In two weeks, my show is coming out, which I’m so excited for. And also my business, which I think there has been a lot of curiosity about.”

“Last year, I had thought, ‘American Riviera, that sounds like such a great name.’ It’s my neighborhood; it’s a nickname for Santa Barbara, but it limited me to things that were just manufactured and grown in this area,” Meghan explained.

Meghan decided to change the company’s name when “Netflix came on, not just as my partner in the show, but as my partner in my business, which was huge. So I thought about it, and I’ve been waiting for a moment to share a name that I had secured in 2022, and this is the moment, and it’s called As Ever.”

“As Ever essentially means ‘as it’s always been,’ and if you’ve followed me since 2014 with The Tig [her former lifestyle blog], you know I’ve always loved cooking and crafting and gardening — this is what I do,” she continued. “And I haven’t been able to share it with you in the same way for the past few years, but now I can, so as things are starting to trickle out there, I wanted you to hear it from me first.”

As Ever launched its first product line in April, including a variety of herbal teas, raspberry jam, wildflower honey and flower sprinkles. The product line sold out in under one hour upon going live.

Kim Kardashian Seemingly Deletes Meghan Markle Photo at Kris Jenner Bash

Kim Kardashian seemingly removed a photo of Meghan Markle from her Instagram photo dump celebrating Kris Jenners 70th birthday.

Initially, Kardashian, 45, had included Meghan, 44, in a carousel of pictures on Monday, November 10.  The image showed Kardashian and Meghan posing together and smiling for the camera, the former wearing a slinky purple gown and the latter in a black turtleneck dress.

Meanwhile, Meghan’s husband, Prince Harry, was spotted in the background, sporting a tuxedo and having a conversation with an unseen person.

Shortly after Kardashian posted the photos, however, Meghan disappeared.

Us Weekly reached out to Kardashian for comment.

Her Monday highlight reel featured her mom, of course, as well as her sisters, her All’s Fair costars, childhood friends Paris and Nicky Hilton and other pals including Snoop Dogg, Justin Bieber, Ciara, and Jeff and Lauren Bezos (who hosted the festivities at their home on Saturday, November 8).

A source exclusively told Us on Monday that Beyoncé and Jay-Z had also attended the James Bond-themed bash inside a tent on the Bezos lawn, where guests mingled among poker and roulette tables and nibbled on passed appetizers and birthday cake.

The source said that phones were not “not allowed” at the party, but there was a photobooth.

“There was a big dance floor, all the sisters were dancing,” the insider said, revealing that Bruno Mars was there, performing his upbeat music. “Kris had one of the best nights and felt so much love. It was the party of all parties.”

As multiple outlets previously reported, the police showed up as the event was wrapping up. (Us reached out to Kris’ rep for comment.)

The matriarch took to Instagram on Sunday, November 9, and shared snaps of her birthday look: a red strapless Givenchy Haute Couture gown with black gloves.

“Magical night celebrating my 70th birthday with beautiful family and friends,” she captioned the post, which showcased glimpses of Kris with her boyfriend Corey Gamble, Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys and Chris Rock

Oprah Winfrey and Adele were also among the A-list attendees.

“HAPPY 70TH BIRTHDAY TO THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WOMAN ON THE PLANET!” Kardashian gushed in an Instagram tribute last week. “There is no one more special in this whole world than you! You are so blessed with the most amazing family surrounded by so much love! You truly are super woman and have been the absolute best role model just in the way you lead and live your life with such grace and compassion and joy! I Wannabe just like you when I grow up and have always said this my whole life! I love you so much mom!”

The night of Kris’ star-studded blowout, Harry and Meghan also stopped by the annual Baby2Baby Gala in West Hollywood, posing alongside their friend Serena Williams. The tennis pro, 44, was honored at the fundraiser for her “for her fierce commitment to uplifting children and families and her powerful advocacy for maternal health,” Baby2Baby stated via Instagram the following day.

The charity event attracted other boldfaced names including Kerry Washington, Nicole Richie, Jessica Alba and Demi Lovato.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had a big night out on Saturday, November 8.

The royals were spotted arriving at Kris Jenner’s James Bond-inspired 70th birthday party in Beverly Hills, but they also made time to show their support for Meghan’s BFF Serena Williams.

The same night they hit up Jenner’s bash, Harry, 41, and Meghan, 44, were seen at the annual Baby2Baby Gala in West Hollywood, posing alongside Williams. The tennis pro, 44, was one of the night’s honorees, receiving the Giving Tree Award for her “for her fierce commitment to uplifting children and families and her powerful advocacy for maternal health,” Baby2Baby said in an Instagram post on Sunday, November 9.

Harry looked dapper in a black tuxedo at the event, while Meghan wore a stylish black floor-length turtleneck gown with a thigh-high split. She paired her look with dangling earrings and her hair up in a bun. Williams was equally glamorous in a black and white off-the-shoulder dress.

Jenner turned 70 on Wednesday, November 5, and her famous daughters celebrated their mom’s milestone birthday with social media tributes.

“HAPPY 70TH BIRTHDAY TO THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WOMAN ON THE PLANET! There is no one more special in this whole world than you!” Kim, 45, wrote via Instagram. “You are so blessed with the most amazing family surrounded by so much love! You truly are super woman and have been the absolute best role model just in the way you lead and live your life with such grace and compassion and joy! I Wannabe just like you when I grow up and have always said this my whole life! I love you so much mom!”

Khloé, 41, shared, “Mommy, seventy years of pure magic, grace, laughter, and best of all, love. Somehow, you just keep getting more radiant. More fabulous by the day. You are the heartbeat of our family, the light that guides us all, the one who created this beautiful, wild, loving universe that we call home. That is your superpower, your love; limitless, unconditional, eternal.”

“Mommy, you are my greatest inspiration. The example I look to every single day. You’ve shown me that strength can be soft, that kindness can be powerful, and that beauty has endless layers,” she continued. “You’ve built a kingdom rooted in compassion and joy and you’ve made each of us better, brighter souls just by you being ours.”

“There will never be enough time to love you the way you deserve to be loved, to thank you for the way you’ve held us, guided us, and made us believe in ourselves. You are our Queen, our muse, our protector, our forever home,” Khloé wrote, concluding, “So today we celebrate you. The woman who defines love, laughter, and legacy. The woman who made magic out of motherhood. The woman who is the party, the prayer, and the peace all in one.”

Golden Bachelor’s Carol Freeman Emotional About Nephew’s World Series Win

Carol Freeman might not have received a ring on The Golden Bachelor but she can still add another piece of bling to her collection after the Los Angeles Dodgers World Series win.

Freeman — aunt to Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman — celebrated with the team on Saturday, November, 1 after Game 7 of the World Series, which saw the Dodgers beat the Toronto Blue Jays 5-4 in 11 innings to claim their second-consecutive championship.

“It’s been incredible,” Freeman said to reporter Arash Markazi via X. “It’s overwhelming to have a win here in Canada, my home country. It’s special because Freddie’s mom passed away. … It was really special.”

It’s the third World Series that Freeman, 63, has been part of courtesy of her nephew. The Dodgers won the title last season (with Freddie being named World Series MVP) and her nephew won the title in 2021 as well, when he was with the Atlanta Braves.

Freeman, though, said this latest championship win is the “sweetest.”

“They’ve all been great, don’t get me wrong,” Freeman said. “But going seven games, exhausting the pitching, I have no words. I’m stunned.”

Freeman also serves as her nephew’s agent. She has three daughters of her own.

She was featured on The Golden Bachelor during this season, before removing herself after deciding she did not have enough of a connection with the bachelor, Mel Owens.

“I’m very interested in you, I really am,” she said to Owens on the show. “But I feel like we haven’t had a lot of conversation. I got my family at home and then maybe not getting that one-on-one, I thought, you know what? I don’t feel like you have that connection with me.”

She added, “I don’t think I can continue on this journey with you.”

She then refocused her attention on her family and baseball. After the World Series victory, Freeman said he appreciated her time on the show, but lamented the fact that she had to miss some of the baseball season.

“It’s kind of funny to be on the front side of the camera,” she said. “I loved it. I had the best time. I met some wonderful women and The Bachelor was great. It was fun.”

She joked: “I missed a few weeks of the baseball season, so that was a little rough.”

Freeman didn’t miss much of the epic World Series, but she told TMZ after the 18-inning Game 3 marathon on Monday, October 27 — the game which saw Freddie hit a walk-off home run to give the Dodgers the win and series lead — that she almost missed the game-winning homer.

“It was almost midnight when Freddie got to bat,” Freeman said. “It was incredible, especially because I was inside because I was seeing if there was any ice cream left. And I said, ‘Oh Freddie’s coming up!’ So I ran out and I didn’t sit in my normal seat. … And I was just praying.”

The Dodgers’ World Series title makes them the first team in 25 years to repeat as champions. The New York Yankees were the last team to pull off the impressive feat, winning three-straight World Series from 1998-2000.

Royal wedding 2018 exclusive: Prince Harry and Meghan married at Windsor

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have become husband and wife in a moving ceremony at Windsor Castle.

An emotional-looking prince and his smiling bride exchanged vows and rings before the Queen and 600 guests at St George’s Chapel.

Ms Markle, wearing a white boat-neck dress by British designer Clare Waight Keller, was walked down the aisle by Prince Charles.
At the altar, Prince Harry told her: “You look amazing.”

Now married, the couple will be known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

The guests, many of them A-listers, included Oprah Winfrey, George and Amal Clooney, David and Victoria Beckham and Sir Elton John, who later performed at the wedding reception.

Ms Markle’s sculpted dress was designed by Ms Waight Keller for French fashion house Givenchy.

Most striking was a diamond bandeau tiara, loaned to her by the Queen, and a trailing five-metre silk veil embroidered with the flowers of each country in the Commonwealth.

Prince Harry and his brother and best man, the Duke of Cambridge, wore the frockcoat uniform of the Blues and Royals.

He was given special permission from the Queen to keep his short beard as it is customary to be clean-shaven when dressed in Army uniform.

Their 10 young bridesmaids and pageboys – including Prince George and Princess Charlotte – rose to the occasion.

However, the excitement became too much for one of the younger ones who started crying just before Ms Markle entered the chapel.

Mr Markle, 73, reportedly watched the ceremony from California.

He told the US celebrity website, TMZ : “My baby looks beautiful and she looks very happy.”

Ms Markle’s mother, Doria Ragland, stayed with her daughter overnight before accompanying her to the chapel.

Dressed in a pale green Oscar de la Renta dress, with a neat hat, an emotional-looking Ms Ragland sat alone on the bride’s side of the chapel for some time.

As the witnesses were called away to sign the register, Ms Ragland appeared to accept an outstretched hand from Prince Charles with some relief.

In her vows, Ms Markle did not promise to “obey” her husband, while the prince has broken with royal tradition by choosing to wear a wedding ring.

Prince Harry’s ring is a platinum band with a textured finish and Ms Markle’s has been made from a piece of Welsh gold.
‘Power in love’

The Most Rev Bishop Michael Curry , the president of the US Episcopal Church, gave an address, the Rt Rev David Conner, Dean of Windsor, conducted the service and the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Rev Justin Welby, officiated.

“There’s power, power in love,” Bishop Curry, who was invited to speak by Ms Markle, said.

“If you don’t believe me think about a time when you first fell in love. The whole world seemed to centre around you and your beloved.”

In a fiery, passionate speech, he also referenced the African-American spiritual song Down by the Riverside, which was sung by slaves, and when he realised he had gone on too long, he told his audience he had better wrap up as “we gotta get you all married!”

Speaking afterwards, Bishop Curry said it was “a joyful thing” to see diversity in the ceremony, adding: “That happened today, in different ways, different songs, different perspectives, different worlds and all of it came together and gave God thanks.”

Karen Gibson and The Kingdom Choir performed Ben E King’s soul classic Stand By Me during the service.

As the bride and groom signed the register, 19-year-old cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason – who won the 2016 BBC’s Young Musician – performed three pieces by Faure, Schubert and Maria Theresia von Paradis.

He was accompanied by musicians from the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, the English Chamber Orchestra and the Philharmonia.

The gospel choir also performed Etta James’ uplifting version of Amen/This Little Light of Mine as the newlyweds left the chapel.

After the service, the duke and duchess travelled through Windsor along a route lined by tens of thousands of well-wishers.

The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead said more than 100,000 people visited the town on Saturday.

It was a traditional wedding – the dress, the bridesmaids, the vows, the hymns. And it was very, very different.

The Palace made it clear in a stream of announcements that they wanted a different kind of wedding.

But it was the service that marked this out as a modern, diverse wedding for a modern diverse couple: the Kingdom Gospel choir setting toes tapping, a young black cellist, and a breathtaking address from Bishop Curry, the President of the Episcopal Church.

Every royal wedding is a chance for the Royal Family to relaunch and reinvent. There may have been trouble in the week before the wedding. But that is in the past.

This wedding was about the future, a different future for the Royal Family.
