LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Northern Region Simso League debutant, Raiply Football Club, has reached the finals of MK5 million Nyasa Capital Finance Regional Cup on a Silver platter after the organizers of the cup stripped off the final place from Manyamula FC for using ineligible player in their semi-final game against Raiply.
As per NRFA communication, it indicates that Manyamula FC used ineligible player by the name Vitumbiko Kumwenda who is alleged to be of Kavukula based side KV against Raiply in their semi-final game on Sunday, December 5, 2021 and that their counterparts played under protest in that match.
Raiply lost by three goals to two,Joseph Mkandawire,Edward Nkhoma and Chakufwa Zimba were on target for Manyamula whilst Blessings Nyirenda netted a brace for the forest boys.
Desire Bellings, Vice General Secretary for Northern region Football Association, said they summoned both Manyamula and Raiply to hear their part which before they released their verdict that the defendant lost the game by three goals and that they had to defend themselves or appeal within 48hours of which they did not hence NRFA giving the final place to the complainant Raiply FC.
Frank Nyirenda, Manyamula FC General Secretary, said they were just told that their counterparts Raiply FC played under protest hence asked for that later of protest in which after scrutinizing the game.
According to them it did not qualify to be.Nyirenda further said they were told to submit the report by NRFA which they denied to saying their friends did not tell them that they are playing under protest and even the officiating referee did not sign the letter.
“It’s a letter which you can not understand that it is a protest one,it leaves many questions. After the verdict we have answered but they have told us we are late the 48 hours have passed. We are very concerned for not playing the finals after working hard to reach this far.
“It is better sometimes to say right out that you should not participate in the cup or league because our administrators are lacking the truth in how they manage our football which deny other teams to excel forward, it is really disappointing”, Nyirenda highlighted in disbelief.
Ekwendeni United who defeated Rumphi United by two goals to one on Saturday 4th December, 2021 will now battle it out with Raiply FC in the finals on Sunday, December 12, 2021.
